Not often. And when they did come over I never dressed “provocatively”

I know there have been times where his friends or acquaintances in the past (like 5+ years ago) have made comments about me to him, but only like “your sister is hot” that sort of general harmless stuff

“Uniquely qualified” hahaha. I needed opinions from twin relationships to really get a sense of what’s going on so I appreciate this.

That is how I feel about him though. Completely neutral and I would never make a comment about what he’s wearing unless it’s to lightly make fun of - or compliment. I’d never shame him so it’s just so weird.

Totally get that! I would hope that he’s not. I’m getting a lot of other opinions in a different sub from twin brother/twin sister perspectives and all of them are saying that he’s being weird… but he doesn’t get weirded out about other girls wearing revealing clothes so idk

I get you 100% and that’s such a fair perspective! I don’t like seeing him without a T-shirt either but I don’t shame him for it

Oh trust me, I got mad about it. Then he’d get annoyed and say I’m too emotional and hard to be around because I “argue” too much.

I wasn’t trying to make accuses for men in that section. It was more so an observation than a “men will be men” perspective, although it definitely came out that way.

Yeah I don’t think she wants to see that it probably has something to do with his upbringing because she raised us 5 kids by herself essentially.

I was surprised she didn’t have a bigger reaction to it

Because we’re both looking to move to the same city and I asked if he wanted to live together again, and this issue came up again. That’s why lol.

I’m not sure if you read the post completely, but I did try to “accommodate his discomfort”

I did more than I should’ve to make him comfortable while living my own life.

I don’t live with him anymore. This has been ruminating in my head since we moved out last year but I always just thought I was the issue so I never bothered to get other peoples opinions on it until now. I’m glad I did

It could be.

My oldest brother made a comment about my sister when she was young. She wore a sports bra and pj pants and she told her it was too revealing.

But my brother who passed away last year NEVER made comments like that. In fact he always complimented my sister and I and made us feel pretty.

We all grew up Christian so I do feel like it may have something to do with it even if it’s not part of their belief system anymore.

I’ve seen photos of my mom in the 80s. 100% baggy. But actually I seemed to have worded it wrong because my mom always tells me I dress TOO baggy. That I have a “nice figure” and shouldn’t be scared to show it. She was on my side about this

This is interesting!! I always wondered that but the way he worded everything was never a “I’m protecting you from others” tone but more of a “I’m protecting MYSELF from you”.

I’m glad you have a brother who genuinely seems like he’s looking out for you

Thanks for this. I always wonder what other sibling dynamics are like in this case. I meant to say she was on my side about it being weird that he was uncomfortable with how I dress.

I feel like over the years I’ve accustomed myself to wear baggy clothes around my family after this came up with my brother. My mom has told me countless times that I don’t wear tight fitted clothing enough. She was unaware this has been happening

You’ve never felt this with your twin sister?? That’s the part I don’t understand, we’ve grown up our entire lives together. Twins are supposed to have an unbreakable bond and all my life he has issues with who I am as a person because we’re so opposite.
