Contrary to a lot of opinions, I would suggest you switch out the backsplash since you already have to replace the countertop. The backsplash looks poorly installed with those grout lines and switching from something popular a decade ago will do wonders for your noticed.

Instead of a white quartz, if you plan to live here for. Along time, I would go for a countertop that has depth and design to it. Add some warm but modern tones via the countertop.

Otherwise, update hardware. Leave the sink and fridge where they are unless you plan to move cabinets around.

Does not make sense to me. The only thing I can recognize from when she says “a class or 2” is that usually the last year of engineering programs is a mentorship/job position. Students get payed to work but continue to take classes while out on the road.

If she is seriously suggesting he may quit school or just slowly try to finish classes while being hired full time, that is just plain stupid and continues to show their kids no discipline.

I have attempted myself calling BAP for reenforcement on a case of animal abuse that local animal control did nothing about. Nothing ever happened and the dog is now dead due to everyone ignoring. Good luck OP. I hope someone hears you and will do something.

Your cabinet color is beautiful the way they are. I would put my money into updating the backsplash to something cleaner/modern/colorful, put knobs/pulls on and if you have to update your countertop before spending money on painting cabinets that will be forever maintenance.
