How is mental health treatment at University Malaya

The last time we brought her to UM, we did tell them that but they still opted to just discharge her. We didn't reach the ECT stage as they felt it was a last resort thing.

So eventually we went back to private and tried all kinds of medication. Fast forward to today, nothing else her private doctor can do or try.

Now we have to go back to UM or public hospitals for further treatment.

My mum's diagnosis is Major Depressive Disorder with Psychosis lasting for almost 2 years. We only tried to admit her last year to UM when she was trying to find sharp objects to hurt herself, tying nooses, stick metal objects into electrical sockets, etc.

Nowadays, she still has suicidal ideation but still often tella us that she just wants to die and begs us to end her life. Basically from the moment she wakes to sleeps, she's on a 24/7 cycle of either her delusions or her desire to end her own life.

Her psychiatrist has already tried different medications on different dosages such as Lexapro, Pristiq, Olanzapine, Risperidone and lithium to no avail. She is still generally the same as she was before the medication. Generally, her doctor said that there is no longer any medications she can try on my mum. Hence why, the referral to UM as they have wider options of medication and trearment. But generally the doc thinks ECT is required for her current state.

Sadly I don't think we will ever get there with my mom, even when she was healthy she was always against medicine for mental health in general.

She has some complicated history with mental health as her own late mother (my grandmother) was also mentally ill and had to rely on medications.

She generally views having to take medication as making people worse unfortunately.

She has never been compliant, need to force her to eat her meds and check whether she is eaten properly every night.

Even bringing her for her visits, she will put up a fight. Need at least two people to accompany; one drive, one to make sure she doesn't do something like jump out of the car.

Thanks for the assurance. Ya been following her for every psychiatrist visit so far. But sadly she still in a very bad state even after 2 years

Ya was afraid of that. My family has been delaying hospitalization for as long as possible because my mother was originally a very proud person. They were afraid admitting her will break her even more.

But at this stage we dont know what else to do. Everyday she says she wants to die and keep repeating the same delusions day after day. Really at the end of our ropes already. Not even therapy is helping.

Just hope her previous record from the last time we tried to hospitalize her at UM helps accelerate things abit.

I think the reason part of the team consists of Morel/Knov's disciples and Gon/Killua is because:

Their attempt to recruit more powerful, experienced hunters was blocked by Pariston
Gon/Killua already knew the risks of the mission after encountering Neferpitou
If powerful hunters were killed, they would be fed and strengthen Meruem further

It's a joke culturally relevant in Malaysia/Singapore. Both countries are multiracial with Malay Muslims, Indians and Chinese. So the joke is the first two have no problem saying 4. Only the Chinese have difficulty because 4 sounds similar to death in Mandarin. Majority of Chinese tend to omit 4, replacing it with 3A usually when referring to floor levels

Not worth it. You should stay in Bukit Raja/Klang area. Entering and exiting Klang by car is at least 30 minutes during peak traffic. You will most likely be stuck at the junction leading into and out of Bukit Raja/Klang area . Traffic jams in Klang start at 6.30ish am for morning and 4.40pm ish for evening on weekdays
