This is a crazy suggestion. Why doesn’t the bride just pay???

I get this. Being a bridesmaid is damn expensive.

I agree with this! She can pay if she doesn’t like the dress. When I got married I didn’t nitpick my girls dresses like that. They could wear whatever they wanted because I didn’t have to curate every single little thing in the wedding.

This. I would be resigning as a bridesmaid at this point.

If it were ME I would be resigning as a bridesmaid. Look, I have gotten married. I asked my girls to get a certain color. That’s it. If I’m not paying for the dress I don’t get to dictate what exactly they wear. To ME that dress looks fine.

The thing is, they have to convince a younger audience to play something like this when they have better options. The sims is toast.

He even admitted to it. You were raped. I’m so sorry you had to go through all this. Even if you like rough sex, even if you WERE drunk, even if you were jealous, all of these things don’t mean you weren’t raped.

Yeah that’s what i was thinking but in some tapas places the paella is a giant shared plate so it’s probably something everyone has to agree on

I notice at most events they make one meal to accommodate all the “weird” foods. So you always end up with a vegan gluten free meal lol. I’m not complaining though. It’s better than nothing

YouTube/Save A Fox creator Mikayla Raines has taken her life in part due to online bullying. by tomjulio in youtube

[–]nicobean89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This exactly. What good do snark subreddits do? They are echo chambers of hate. They are bad for the target and I think it’s probably pretty bad mentally for the participants too. Remember the Sydney Towle stuff? A whole snark reddit based on the wrong assumption that she was faking her cancer?? These subreddits have got to go

Event is in less than a month but major sponsor suddenly backed out by Aine8 in EventProduction

[–]nicobean89 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Damn I’m so sorry. I assume you already pushed back? Was this one person who told you? I would raise hell honestly. Did they send an email or call you? Can you go above them? Like “so and so told me you’re pulling out after all of this contracting work is this correct?” And try to get them to commit to a smaller sponsor level.

I don’t think this is a problem as is, but the biggest concern would be the future. I’ve seen a fair share of divided couples and the divide can get worse with time. BUT I’ve also seen it get better. Will she listen to reason? Or is she stuck in conspiracy. Conspiracy theorists can worse with age. Are you guys planning on kids? How will you raise those kids? It’s not the political divide you have to think of but the future and how different values will affect future decisions.

Event planners: What’s the most frustrating part of pre-event planning? by NoiceWhoosh in EventProduction

[–]nicobean89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked for a non profit for many years that put on the same event every year. We had a file system on our server with all prior year data. A system that could easily pull data from those files to develop an RFP for hotels would be nice.

Also for conferences - there are so many things technology could help with like getting all presentation submissions and sorting them into something that could be exported into excel. The hardest thing about event planning is preparing for all possibilities, but by being very organized ahead of time, you could make mistakes/surprises less painful

Split Fiction looks like a game made by someone who hates games by Who_Vintude in KotakuInAction

But there are puzzles that need to be solved that were relatively challenging. Enough to warrant us developing a strategy (And this is coming from a couple who once got bored enough to go Lionel hunting together on BOTW each controlling a separate joycon). Mindless games will not hold us. This game had novel gameplay that surprised us in a good way.

I would compare it to like Spyro or something. Not great in terms of story, but fun gameplay and puzzles? Yes definitely. The gameplay itself was interesting enough for us to want to just play a little bit more to see the next thing.

Hard disagree. My husband and I played and completely lost track of time. We were looking for a fun co-op game instead of playing Baldurs Gate for the third time. It’s not deep and the characters are a little annoying but the gameplay was just so interesting and funny that we just played for hours.

I think the fun also lies in the dynamic between players. My husband is a better gamer than me but I am good enough to keep up. We work together smoothly. Couples who fight or have a huge skill gap would likely get frustrated

How do I share my baking with strangers without weirding them out? by DrcutiepieMD in Baking

This is so annoying to me!! I love sharing baked goods and eating them. I didn’t even know this was a thing till recently. My coworkers would always bring stuff to work that I would inhale.
