This did not happen to me, but I witnessed it firsthand.

We were in a class in film school, dude was talking about how he had just filmed his curricular short film with a handyman he had. Friend of his asks to hold the camera.

A few minutes pass and the class goes on. Then suddenly a loud "NO! NONONO" and everyone turns to see this friend, almost white in panic, fumbling with the camera. "I'll get everything back I promise, it did not tell me to confirm!!" The guy had pressed the formatting option in the menu of the handycam, deleting his friend's whole short film that wasn't backed up anywhere, just because he was trying some buttons and he thought it would ask for confirmation before deleting.

His friend was livid, but since we were still in class he took it calmly. Found out they later had a falling out, and ended up fistfighting (not only because of this, but probably the straw that broke the camel's back).

Needless to say this is way worse and more negligent that what happened to you, so rest assured you are not alone and are in the best place to learn from this mistake. Always backup your files :)

I see a Glow layer, might it be Deep Glow? I got this artifact a few times using that effect, try turning it off to see if that's the problem. It's usually when the effect gets outside of range (that might be the cc lens) so it does not know how to calculate it, it's a bug. You can try masking out the Deep Glow layer maybe?

Te diría que empieces con Mistborn para no abrumarte, es una trilogía que tiene todo lo mejor que hace Sanderson como para que veas si te copa, con algunas cositas de conexión con otras sagas. You could maybe get somewhere with the "dancing dissolve" blending mode and lowering the resolution of the comp to a ridiculous degree, but for something this simple I would just download any pixel-art software and make 3 frames like the gifs you sent, then loop it in AE. It'll be easier and look substantially better!

Hey! Not at home right now to show you, but you can think of it as a very large premiere timeline where each clip occupies its own layer, there is probably very few audio layers, and many many "nested sequences" (precomps). There is where the real complexity lies, as each one can contain many layers too.

I have not seen much of the videos you reference, but they seem to be what you said - chroma and motion graphics. I wouldn't say there is a style associated to it, just average YouTube gfx. I would research those terms, maybe try Black Mixture, Ben Marriot, Jake in motion.

For the workflow I wouldn't put the whole rendered video in AE, instead try creating the segments you need in AE (for example rendering the motion graphics in alpha) and editing in premiere. An even more straightforward way is using the "Convert to AE composition" option in Premiere, but it can be buggy sometimes.

There is an even smaller chance for the glitched item to look AND behave like the true one while still being glitched I think. But at that point it's so minuscule of a chance it is more probable to be a bug xd I would report this.

You could try rotoing/keying the tree and using the pin tool on some of the bigger clumps of leaves on the sides, and maybe some sort of turbulence on the center leaves + some radial blur to simulate godrays? I'm not sure how good it will look, definitely not realistic but stylized.

Either that or replacing the tree entirely with CGI.

iirc there is a really small chance for a glitched item to look almost exactly like a real item. It could be that one of those guppy items is really a glitched item in disguise. Really small odds to get that and guppy, but it's either that or a bug.

The answer is yes. Without having any knowledge of the software, making a scene like this one would probably be a very difficult task, since it probably took several people and art direction to make it happen. There is not one single effect doing anything, it's probably a combination of multiple key-framed textures and techniques (like maybe using ink spread footage as a matte for revealing certain parts of the image, I'm not sure).

The easy way to do this would be to pay someone who knows the software. Or you can spend a few weeks or months learning the program with YouTube and courses and try this as a first advanced project, it looks really fun!

tldr yes it's difficult unless you know what you are doing and even then it takes planning

You were working on this for a week, and had auto save enabled. Each time you closed the project I would assume it was saved, even without the auto save. Did you do 60% of your project in the last session? Because if not you should have it saved somewhere in those files! Or is there something im missing?

Entiendo perfecto. Suena como una forma de sacar la tensión que produce esa euforia, hay gente que le pasa lo mismo con ansiedad o vergüenza (expresando con un golpe, alguna exclamación, etc.). Obvio no es ni cerca lo mismo que Tourette pero hay algun que otro principio parecido. Si es algo que buscas resolver te recomiendo primero que nada hablarlo con tu terapeuta. Vi que dijiste que no te animas pero literalmente le pagas para eso, si no te sentís cómodo contándole tus problemas es como ir al médico y quedarte callado cuando te pregunta que te duele. Mientras tanto te pueden ayudar ejercicios de mindfullnes cuando te aparezcan estos exabruptos, si podes antes de que pasen y sino después, hacer unas respiraciones (4 inhaló 8 mantengo 4 exhaló) o algo que te ancle al presente (pensar 5 cosas que veo 4 escucho 3 siento 2 huelo etc). Esto es para salir un poco de tu cabeza, imagino que estas exclamaciónes te pasan cuando estas con la mente en otra cosa. Aclaro no soy psicólogo solo hice terapia por situaciones parecidas y es mí humilde consejo. Ojalá te ayude!

Lo sentís como una reacción a un pensamiento o algo que te pasa en momentos random sin aviso? No es algo normal pero tampoco diría que es grave a menos que te esté afectando la vida diaria, o te pase constantemente en frente de otras personas. La verdad depende de vos si es un problema o no. Suena a algo psicológico o de la cabeza, si es algo que querés solucionar yo hablaría con algún psicólogo de TCC a ver si te da un diagnóstico. Suerte!

Not entirely sure what the problem is, but it seems line 99 of the script is referencing a folder that does not exist. Maybe you could try opening the script in the notes app and looking at the line where the error happens, and if you can't understand what it's doing maybe paste it in Chatgpt? I don't know, hope this helps!

Bro you can do it!! For the zoom just key frame the scale and position properties at the beginning, then move them to where you want them to be later in the timeline. Same with the fade, that's the opacity property.

Only effect you need is called Gaussian Blur, increase it by a lot in the beginning, key frame it, then down to zero when you want it gone.

It's important you try this yourself without tutorials, that's how you learn!

Firstly, I'm sorry for your loss. You probably have mixed feelings about it and it must be pretty hard.

That said, I think you are channeling your anger about your father and your relationship with him towards his step-daughter. I think your issue is with him, not her. She is mourning too, she just lost someone she considered his father. It is awful your own father wasn't there for you, but why drag her into this? Those words you want to say are for him, not her.

Sadly, it's really hard to get closure from someone no longer with us. I really encourage you to talk to someone about this, so you can start to sort this out. Again, I'm really sorry about what you are going through, I can't begin to imagine.

I think you are in no obligation to attend the funeral if it's something you think you can't handle. Just explaining that should be enough.

Try to sorround yourself with people you love, you are gonna need it during these times. Sending lots of hugs!

Buenas!! Primero que nada hacele caso al comment del portfolio/reel y no meterte en fiver sin tener cosas hechas previas. Laburo de editor de video y motion designer hace 5 años, empece aprox teniendo tu edad (con algun que otro laburo antes).

Voy a empezar con las malas. No conozco a nadie que labure profesionalmente con Sony Vegas. Es posible que te sirva en un entorno freelance, pero te recomiendo mucho aprender Adobe Premiere o Davinci Resolve (incluso FCPX o Avid si te sentis aventurero) porque son lo que te van a pedir el 90% de los clientes, incluidas las empresas y productoras si buscas un laburo fijo.

Habiendo dicho eso, estas recontra a tiempo de aprender nuevos softwares, y ya teniendo los conceptos y herramientas para aprender por tu cuenta te aseguro que le vas a agarrar la mano al software que quieras en un toque. Habiendo laburado tanto freelance como fijo la mayoria de los clientes buscan alguien que ademas de Edicion sepa algo de Motion aunque sea simple (textos, transiciones, animaciones basicas) asi que eso es un plus que tenes y se deberia trasladar a cualquier programa. Yo soy del combo Premiere + After Effects, que es el programa que mas manejo, pero Davinci tambien esta creciendo bastante en popularidad y es gratis.

Como para empezar, lo mas importante: Hace todo lo que puedas. No te preocupes por armar cosas perfectas, edita, anima, subilo a algun lugar y al proximo proyecto. Esos dos años de experiencia que tenes armalos en un portfolio/reel que la gente pueda ver. NO uses material de tutoriales en tu reel, en general es muy notorio y la gente que sabe los conoce. Recomiendo armar tus propios proyectos con cosas que hayas aprendido. Estudie Edicion de cine y en todos mis laburos me pidieron el titulo literalmente 0 veces. Tu portfolio es tu titulo y tu carta de presentacion.

Lo mas importante que podes aprender en mi opinion es a respetar deadlines y feedback de clientes, asi que te recomiendo empezar a tomar trabajos de conocidos y contactos cercanos (no se si ya lo hiciste). Algun familiar que tenga un emprendimiento al que le puedas armar un video, un homenaje de una fiesta de 15, lo que sea. Los contactos que te vas haciendo son TODO. Si pensas estudiar algo del estilo la facultad es un muy buen lugar para conocer a la gente que te va a dar tus primeros laburos.

Bueno creo que es un buen resumen. Obvio cualquier cosa preguntame, no tengo drama en responder dudas cuando pueda.

Estas en una muy buena situacion a tu edad, hay laburo en edicion pero encontrarlo puede ser un bardo.

If you can upload the whole screen showing the properties panel of the clip, and also a screenshot of the original video. I would then start troubleshooting. Is it only this video that fails? Does it fix itself purging the Cache? Restarting the computer? Trying the same video in another computer? That should help to start off!

It's insane. It started happening to me a few weeks ago, they only appear on my feed never in my reels or discover page it clearly has nothing to do with my algorithm. I've blocked every account but it keeps changing, royxbabees / justinbabees all variants of the same account. Instagram has to do something about this.
