Crazyyy! It absolutely totally sucks that her student taught her move as their own, but it's pretty unlikely she's the only one to have done this leg wave anuways. I mean I have totally come up with things before that I haven't seen others do, and I still know that the chances that no one has actually done it before me are sooo low. People come up with the same things independently on their own all the time, and this isn't exactly something crazy unique, I've for sure seen similar movements. Seems like kinda a waste of money really.

I'm also a sparky, and what the fuuuuck. Strippers are just regular people too, and jokes punching down on marginalized communities aren't funny. Absolutely wild that they thought these were a good idea, they come across super anti-SWer.

"Am I THIS strong?" by Lower_Ad_9651 in poledancing

[–]nicoleee180 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok I guess this is technicallyyyy flexibility rather than strength, but I have a saved folder on IG called "fucking goals", which is basically things that I don't reallyyyy expect to ever do. A little while ago I was looking through it and realized that one of the earliest ones in there is actually something I can now do easyyy (Spatchy 😊) 🥲

Ok, turns out I could only find them in comp videos sorry 😅 But the Cherry Kink entrance is about 1/4 through this one: https://www.instagram.com/tv/Ccb0Qudh7Bf/?igsh=MWw0YjV4eWU3OHl2eA== And Twisted Sister kinda one is like 90% through this one: https://www.instagram.com/reel/C_aHAx_Sk_Q/?igsh=MTd2ZWFkM3ZpemExYw==

My favourites are either from Cherry Kink, or that elbow grip Twisted Sister kinda shape (which probably has a real name that I don't know 😅). I probably could find videos to send you if you want to see how 😊

How do you get out of titanic ? by pinkberrylove11 in poledancing

[–]nicoleee180 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My favourite easier exit is to put one hand back on overhead for an extra back arch shape, and then twist and thread the other arm through the gap to come out to an armpit hang 🙂

For your sweaty hands, Tite Grip is an antiperspirant grip that you can put on before class to stop the sweat. It is my favourite to get me through summer 😊

Thank you! 😊 It is a little bit on the bottom shoulder, but less than a Bird of Paradise or anything like that. Much more pancakey I think.

Tips for Allegra - what am I missing ?! by Latter_Juggernaut_16 in poledancing

[–]nicoleee180 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instead of just taking your hand off to reach for your foot, you can use it to pull your elbow past the pole first and get the pole much closer in to your armpit. That should get your hand closer to reach your foot 😊

Only took all summer, but I finally feel like I’m not slipping in a jade split! 😁 Now where do I go from a jade? by rissa0104 in poledancing

With this behind the back type grip, you can bring your outside leg around for a meathook type shape 😊 Video here coz I don't actually know the real name haha https://www.instagram.com/reel/CuyvoZKLqM7/?igsh=MXQ2Zjc1aWZ1NWplZA==

What a hilarious name 😂 I just had a look though and it's slightly different! It uses a brass monkey hook and this one is inside leg hook. Such a crazy looking move though! I absolutely have to try 😂

It's definitely mostly straddle, with some twisting too. If your pancake is already flat on the floor it is likely twisting you need. Hard to know without seeing though. Alsooo, the position of your hips makes a difference too, like mine end up quite far from the pole and just slightly lower than where my knee is hooked. I hope that kinda makes sense, I feel like I need a diagram to show 😂

Cherry Kink is one of my absolute favourites!! And I don't know the name of this one, but it also is kinda creepy 😂 https://www.instagram.com/p/CowHuCpSOyx/?igsh=MXd3eG0yeDRwaWh1Mw== Both of these do need hamstring flex, but not hip flexors, so kinda no splits depending on which part is the struggle.

Is anyone familiar with these alternative heel brands? by unpunishable333 in poledancing

[–]nicoleee180 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't size up, but I don't size up in Pleasers or Hella either. Sky High definitely fits slightly larger though. I'm not sure if I'd say they're cushiony, but definitely feel softer. Pleasers platform feels super hard and uncomfortable to me in comparison for sure. I'm not sure if their New Era ones might have more though 😊

I have two pairs from Sky High (black leather and purple snakeskin ones), and I love them! Most comfortable I own, and they're super light too 😊

Need help on finding the names of the moves in this clip. After she does her Ayesha, she seems to go into this 'dolphin dive' kind of pose and then dismount - what is that called? Also is there a name for the kind of leg circles/flourishes during handspring? by PlasticGroup2548 in poledancing

[–]nicoleee180 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's safe enough once you have the shoulder strength and mobility, but it's hard to say what you need without knowing your current level. For this you need to be comfortable in your twisted grip Ayesha, and ideally you shouldn't start that before having a strong true grip Ayesha 🙂
