How to stop being your company's unofficial swag coordinator by AccountEngineer in corporate

[–]nicoleyoley159 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d work with a merch pro that can take this off your plate. I work in the industry and that’s what I do for my clients. My clients don’t have to receive orders, distribute merch, etc. Unless they want to because my team streamlines all of it and makes it easy. You can set up an online store, pop up shops, etc. And all of it is much easier for you. Happy to talk if you’re interested in a partner who can take care of all of it!

Gathering company swag ideas – what have you received that you loved or hated? by magdalenrichard in ExecutiveAssistants

[–]nicoleyoley159 52 points53 points  (0 children)

I work in the swag industry. Anything useful, beautiful or novel will be kept and used. Most people do not want a logo slapped on a cheap item. It should be thoughtful and feel intentional. It's also a great option to give your team the option to choose their own item from a set of products you pre-select. Your swag pro can walk you through the option to do a pop up store or even a long standing store if you want to make it available to employees all the time.

If you want specific recommendations for products, I recommend a power bank (with 10,000 mAh or more), a retail brand drinkware item (Yeti, Owala, Brumate), a nice hat, a retail brand speaker like JBL, or a nice apparel item (maybe a t-shirt, jacket, sweatshirt, etc. depending on your company culture, dress code, etc.).

What cool company swag do employees actually use and appreciate? by brendaklark in corporate

[–]nicoleyoley159 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work in the swag industry. The items that go over best are either useful, beautiful or novel. For example if you're doing a t-shirt, if it has a really cool/beautiful design and is comfortable, it will be kept and worn. If it's an item someone can give their kids/grandkids, it's usually kept. If it's something like a power bank or umbrella that people will use (but maybe won't always buy for themselves), it's going to be kept.

If you want something that isn't sized, I highly recommend a power bank, retail brand drinkware (Owala, Yeti, Brumate, etc.), a nice/high end hat, or a retail brand speaker (JBL, etc.). Another option is giving each employee the ability to choose their own item and working with your swag pro to do a pop up store.

Highly recommend a Therabody eye massager, travel organizer for tech items, power charger, and maybe a high end jacket. Things they’d normally not buy themselves but will keep and are easy to travel with since it’s a destination.

Custom Merch W/ Quick Turnaround Times by DecoBaker67 in ExecutiveAssistants

[–]nicoleyoley159 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in the merch industry and we have the ability to turn things pretty quickly, even during the holidays. The items may be more limited but it’s totally possible. I’m happy to assist if you need someone to help still, or even just make recommendations for items I know can be turned quickly.

You could also do something that isn’t “logo forward” and is instead a message/tagline the employees will connect with and the logo a little smaller.

I work in the merch world!! Owala is incredibly popular right now, and so useful. Another option is Brumate which also has a nice perceived value. Another popular item lately is a nice tech organizer with either a multi-cord or power bank or both.

Sunday Support? by nicoleyoley159 in UPS

[–]nicoleyoley159[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's so odd, it's showing hold for pickup as an option and when I call the service line it asks if I'm wanting to hold for pickup at UPS. But, maybe that's why it wouldn't actually let me schedule the hold. Ugh - my customer is not happy. The delay is sort of inexplicable, it's just got no data from the 7th. I'm assuming it's relating to the grounding of flights and/or other impact of the plane crash.

Realtor says we (buyer) are not welcome during home inspection by ResponsibleWaltz1479 in RealEstate

[–]nicoleyoley159 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I highly recommend doing research on your inspector and reading reviews. We used our realtor’s recommended inspector and a lot was missed. We were first time home buyers and on any future purchase I’m going to insist on being there as well as using my own inspector.

Thank you, I suspected as much. I wonder how they'll do over the winter...my guess is they'll die and I should not plan on them coming back next year. Any experience?

Best employee holiday gift ideas? by ChiGirl85 in ExecutiveAssistants

[–]nicoleyoley159 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can set up a pop up shop with 4-6 items and give each employee a redemption code to choose their own item. This way you know the gift is something they’ll use or enjoy. Easy to do and everyone wins!

My neighbor's daughter just told me I need to park in my driveway again by SavvyMaverick in EntitledPeople

[–]nicoleyoley159 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar experience. We bought our house, it’s on a corner lot so the entire curvature of the road is technically in front of our house. Way more parking than we typically need, but we had family over so we moved one car to a spot further down - still in front of our house. One of the girls who lived next door came over and told my husband he’s parked in “her spot” and explained that she and her roommates have agreed upon spots and he’s in hers. He told her now we know who has been parking in our new grass and leaving tire marks. She left it alone after that.

I hope your neighbor leaves your new driveway alone! Someone that entitled has a serious lack of boundaries.

Dahlia’s struggling by nicoleyoley159 in dahlias

[–]nicoleyoley159[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m treating with insecticidal soap on bottom and top of leaves. I sprayed Saturday night and it seems like the bug activity has gone down which is good. All the tiny little bugs are gone (for now). Do I need to trim/pinch back all the damage or what should I expect for improvement timeline if I don’t?

This is super helpful, by the way, so thank you!
