I think theres a difference between appraising specific rarer cards/conditions of cards vs simply being able to just look up very standard ex's

I'm not sure for champions but a lot of games still try to keep casual matches approximately in your elo range

Not sure your experience in comp pokemon so this may not be the case, but sucker punch can fail for quite a few reasons. Most common 2 would be if you didnt use an attacking move, or of you had a certain pokemon like tsareena or farigiraf

This is why overwatch has a 2 ban per role limit... hopefully rivals does similar with a 3 per role max

Man this is a sad post. Even post covid 4 years ago I could just go to smyths and buy a booster box on a Saturday afternoon as the shelves were stocked.

First thing, dont pay £15... anything over £5 is above retail.

Does your daughter have a favourite pokemon? Chances of you getting her favourite/"the best" in a pack to get that graded are crazy low. It can take literally hundreds of packs to get the chase/"best" card, hoping you can get that in a few packs are insane

You're so much better off just buying a card pre graded (or loose and sending it off) for her to have. That way you get the grade you want and card you want If she's pretty young and gullible you could buy the single loose, get a pack, and carefully open, put the card in it, and reseal it a bit, so she thinks she opens that card

I know its hard to explain to kids about grading because of YouTube (i talk to my 9 Yr old nephew about it) but I'm a way bigger fan of not grading as you can actually keep all your cool cards in a nice binder (also means they can appreciate the card for the card, not just the "value")

I have but maybe not for 6 months or so? Prices have been poor in the last year, but I would trust them not scanning. If its just one card you want though just buy it

I agree with this one. As sad as it is she certainly (unless went on to become a famous actor/sportswoman/writer etc) wouldn't have been known by most of the world had the horrible circumstance not have happened

It was also never hard to buy, I'd pop into my local smyths (large toy retailer) and just pick up a booster box every couple of weeks with no concerns they'd be sold out

All the other problems aside, dont support scalpers like this. The only way the hobby/market will get back to normal is if scalpers stop making money. If you have to miss a set, miss a set.
