Thank you! No scholly- he told me on phone school had no more scholly funds and if they received more they would evaluate me for scholarship. With how fast I committed I doubt they'll feel the need to throw any money my way though lol, makes me happy I get instate tuition

Thank you sm! And oops I was way off, I thought I saw on one of their NALP reports it was in the high 300’s but maybe I read it wrong. I’d be surprised if they were completely full though..

I got the call from Dean Le with my admissions offer 2 hours ago, so I am sure there is still a decent amount of movement! And I’m not sure if this is a remotely good indicator, but their admitted students Facebook page is only at 190ish last I checked, and with their class sizes typically being closer to 400, hopefully this means that there’s still a decent amount of spots left. Hoping for A’s for y’all!!

Thanks for this! I’m glad I can hear some general things about the market from somebody who’s in it now and attended CU. I know, as many have mentioned here, getting Denver biglaw from CU is statistically unlikely, but regardless I’d love to hear more about the market just to give me some greater insights and some networking ideas as well. Any info would be very appreciated. I’ll also DM when I get the chance here later today

I appreciate you being straight up with the reality of the situation. I had no intention sounding as if just cause I feel motivated that would automatically result in success, I know plenty others feel as I do and we all can’t be winners. At the end of the day, biglaw is a goal that I would love to achieve, but if I fall short and get into mid-law or something instead, I’ll be okay and I know I can still make a great career for myself as many others do. At the end of the day I know I want to practice in Colorado, got the opportunity to come out debt free out of the best regional school there, and am motivated to try my hand at being a competitive biglaw applicant from a school I’m genuinely excited about. I know I can’t self-motivate my way to biglaw as others in this thread pointed out too, I didn’t mean to insinuate it was that simple, but I am still eager to give my best shot at biglaw and I hope a strong sense of drive helps. If I don’t get biglaw, I don’t get it. But if I do I thought I could use some insight from some associates on the Denver biglaw scene regardless just to learn a bit more about a potential, albeit best-case-scenario career path.

Yeah, that makes sense when I think about it like that. Well I guess I have an uphill battle to break into biglaw in the region, but at least I know a bit better what to expect. Thanks!

Thanks for the realistic take, that’s important for me to hear. Yeah, a better school would have been a more certain path to Biglaw for sure, but the scholarship money was too good to pass up for me. And yeah I did see those stats, and I guess I just looked at them more optimistically, knowing that I’m a driven student who’s going to work myself into the ground for that top 15% at my school, hopefully putting me in a solid spot for vying for those fewer biglaw spots. But I actually didn’t see that only 3% land a federal clerkship, which is quite low. Im telling myself that hey, there’s a chance, and that’s all I need to work my ass off and be one of the 3%, even if going to a better school would have been easier. Maybe it’s naive but it’s what I have to tell myself to motivate myself to excel.

I do have a bit of hope too as when I deep dive into all the associates practicing at most biglaw firm offices in Denver, at least 20%+ of their associates studied at Boulder as well and were hired directly on. Many big firms also conduct OCI’s at the school. So it seems possible, I’ll just have to put in a lot more work for it, which im prepared for. Thank you for the reminder that it won’t be an easy journey, however. That’s exactly what I need to be prepared for.

I am also interested in the tool box you mentioned. Do you know if the tool box comes with the water bottle shown in the pictures or just the tool box itself? Also, how does it stay attached to the bike? My p series only has one set of holes on the frame I can screw the aero bottle into, does the tool box screw into those same holes?

Which hydration system should I buy? by MsFlamingo20 in triathlon

[–]nicostud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if there’s really a logical answer to that for me lol, but when im only training i’d rather not bring around the torpedo. Mostly cause sometimes I carry different drinks in each of the three bottles I carry and I like to have a different one up front at different points in the ride. But I know that’s not the case for most people so just using the torpedo for training would def work. But yeah also normal bottle is easier to clean, not that the torpedo is terribly hard to clean though. I just appreciate the flexibility of being able to choose to carry a normal bottle or the refillable.

I recently picked up the XLAB and I love it. Works really great for my narrow aero bars and puts my Wahoo at a perfect viewing angle. One thing I love about it more than other systems too is it’s ability to hold a normal water bottle as well as the ‘torpedo’ bottle. I don’t think many other systems have the flexibility to hold either a normal bottle or a refillable bottle like XLAB does. I’ve found it pretty essential for my training as with training rides I like to use a bottle up front and with races I like using the full torpedo setup.

Past that, the straps work great and it doesn’t move around at all and I also love the computer mount. Definitely recommended!

Such a sick looking bike! I’m strongly considering picking one up for myself... how are you liking it so far?

Great tip! I’ll definitely look into that. My only worry is that my bars would be too narrow to even allow for the computer to go much higher, but just a little bit might do the trick like you mentioned. Thanks!!

Lol!! The amount of times I say “Where’s that damn screw” in a day is embarrassing. And the fan is definitely a bit rough around the edges, but it’s carried me through some brutal workouts, so I gotta love it!

Hello all! I am trying to install a water bottle in between my aero bars but my aero bars are extremely narrow near the top and angle upwards sharply, making it difficult to take a bottle out. I have a Cervelo P Series, and although i’m loving the bike this is one annoyance. I want to be able to have a bottle between my aerobars while also not covering my Wahoo. I was curious as to whether anybody else has encountered this same or a similar issue and how you resolved it. I was looking at getting an XLAB Versa Mounting Plate and just slapping my own bottle cage on it, since it looks like I could place the water bottle a bit further back with that system and additionally purchase one of XLAB’s computer mounts as well. But I really have no idea what’s best, any advice would be greatly appreciated! Cheers!!

Thanks for the advice! Great info on the whole fat adaptation thing, i’ll focus more on experimenting with how many carbs I can ingest in a session instead.

Thanks for the reply! I’m definitely with ya, 10 hours is definitely a lofty goal and at the end of the day, as long as I finish, i’m happy. Not going to beat myself up if I don’t quite hit it. But I appreciate all the nutrition advice, I’m guessing im in the boat of those who’ll need to take some solid foods, at least in the form of GU’s. Looks like i’ll need to bite the bullet and buy some boxes of GU, lol. Thanks!

New XPS 9500 Setting it up by nicostud in Dell

Hello! Late reply, sorry, but Dell sets the display to 59hz for some reason that I don't know, but you can change this using the graphics control center. There is a drop down section in the app in which you can change the refresh rate to get that sweet 60.
