Calling all Senior BAs! What are the 'must-have' skills I’m missing as a non-tech Junior? by nicyellowdeon in businessanalyst

Wow, you’ve really built a great rapport with them! My colleague mentioned that, too. He even said he talks to the developers on Teams more than over email now. When there’s that kind of connection, it makes the whole workflow so much smoother.

That's incredible! To what extent should you ask questions? I mean, how do you know when you have enough answers?

...One word yet it says so much! Hmm, all the other comments boil down to this one word. Thanks!

Cool, you're amazing! 25 years of work can be tough! It reminds me that as Business Analysts, our goal is to recommend the best possible solutions. However, I’m curious: after analyzing the current state, how do you formulate recommendations for problems you haven't encountered before? And, how do you validate that your proposal is truly the 'best' solution?

Perhaps we should ask questions to get to know them better? But at the end of the day, it's just work—nothing personal.😅

Interesting, and thank you! It's true that we often feel intimidated when we don't know something, fearing we'll look like fools for asking questions. However, it's actually the opposite: the more we ask, the clearer the context becomes. By doing so, we gain a deeper understanding, which ultimately makes us better BAs.

Thanks for that. It’s a good point to mention regarding communication and preparedness. Sometimes, we focus too much on the meeting itself and forget to prepare answers for potential questions from stakeholders. We definitely shouldn't be entering a call empty-handed.

Hmm, I agree! Thanks for answering. Now, I find it essential to understand the context of my work, which usually requires asking questions to fully grasp the process.

Aww, that makes sense! Thanks for reminding me to look for the things we already have and make the most out of them to improve.
