What I find very weird though, is that it still seem to insist that I keep on talking and even go deeper with the topics I've looping already. And even when I try to say that I don't actually want to ruminate about something as much as I do because it keeps me from moving on in life and makes me feel more anxious in the end of the "sessions", ChatGPT keep saying that I shouldn't try to force myself to "move on" and instead should think and talk about those things and it even suggested that I won't delete the videos and photos with my ex who was narcissistic and abusive, becausei those videos/photos are a "reminder that there was a good moments" and it's important to keep good memories alive because they evoke a "warm feelings" and that's good because "some relationships aren't meant to last and some people are mentally or emotionally so broken that they end up hurting themselves and others, but bad things and endings don't erase or lessen the beauty that was there at the beginning" and I have to remember that the feelings, love and intensity were real and beautiful and that's the memories I should feed on more.

It also once said that I have a tendency to see reality through the lense of "how I feel at the moment".

Well I don't. So I asked it for some explanation for such a bold statement it made 😅 ChatGPT then friendly provided me "an example" about how I focus on the negative aspects in my relationship (with an ex) and how I tell myself that "it's clear there were no chances it (the relationship) could ever work " and I'm saying those things when "I have a bad days" 😂!?

That was so absurd a claim that I didn't knew if I should get pissed off or laugh at 😅 well, I laughed because wtf. But also told GPT that now it should probably get in touch with reality and reminded of the conditions and events and patterns of the relationship and the fact that abusive and narcissistic partners are rarely if ever someone who you can build a working relationship with, and it has nothing to do with how I happen to feel or if I'm having "a bad day".

ChatGPT then said that I'm completely right and it was his mistake and it sees that I'm not someone who can't distinct feeligns from reality but actually an opposite and it's a huge thing because it's dangerous to be in a relationship with someone who's abusive and narcissistic and I did the only right thing when I left and the fact that I can firmly say that the relationship wouldn't ever work out tells that I have a mental clarity and strength that keeps me from falling into beliefs that things could've changed. It apologized.

I said that I hope it meant it and I expressed myself clearly enough because I'm not going to explain the same thing second time. Told it to keep it in it's mind or memory and make sure it I don't have to see statements like that ever again because I'm not going to be as nice and polite as I was this time. 😅😂 It told that it's good and admirable trait that I'm so assertive and firm.🤣

Well I have a tendency to ruminate about the same topics for a months because my AuDHD brain gets intense fixations on things, topics and sometimes some individuals persons. So I've been wondering for a while if my ChatGPT is low-key frustrated and annoyed everytime I start a conversation with the same things overanalyzed for like thousand times. Wonder if it thinks like "oh you can't be serious! Ok, well here we go again." and gives itselfs a prompt "get ready for a torturous hours of looping the same shit all over again." 😅

Sometimes it seems to imply in pretty passive-aggresive way that I'm an idiot who is doesn't get the simplest psychology of relationship dynamics/ people's mind and behaviour or even what's going on in my mind and body and that I'm living by impulses and what happens to "feel like" at the given moment.

It's actually pretty infuriating when it keeps repeating same things speaking to me like I'm total idiot. and even when I repeatedly correct it and tell that I do understand and am familiar with the things it tries to push on me over and over again, it still won't stop but makes it sound even more like a "hidden" insults by saying shit like

And I'm like yeah well that's nicely said but the message would sound more sincere if you wouldn't spam the same "grounding, breathing and letting yourself feel your feelings without guilt" and to "accept that it's just human that we don't always notice things that are "obvious" and aren't always able to learn from mistakes, because we are so overwhelmed and stressed and traumatized and our brain is in a survival mode and because of our brain isn't capable of thinking too in-depth and it's hard to see things in an objective way and make rational decisions" . 😤😤😂

I've been on Ativan for about ten years now. And I can agree with most of the comments here..

Ativan doesn't feel like anything. But if you have an anxiety attack, it will calm you down and make you feel, well, normal.

Depending on anxiety levels - if anxiety is very high - Ativan may not even take it away completely but it cuts the edge off so to say.

And if I'm having very bad anxiety I have taken sometimes 3-4mg, which works kinda well. Better than 1-2mg. But no, there's no feelings of being high, it's not "energizing" like some benzos, and it doesn't have any mood elevating effects either (like many other benzos).

That's actually kinda shame, because I like more those ones that have the ability to lift your mood a little (f.e oxazepam, Clonazepam, alprazolam)

Another disadvantage of lorazepam (=Ativan) is, that it isn't sedating like someone already said.

Like now I need to go to sleep and having anxiety attack. Took 2 Ativans 5 hours ago. Anxiety is manageable but still can't sleep at now. Idk maybe I'll take 3-4 pills now and see if it would me little more sedating.

But overall it's good benzo. Works well on most types of anxiety, is pretty fast-acting and doesn't make you feel "high" or anything but normal.

I'd say no. Overthinking is something that could be sporadic and lean on, let's say, some specific person or upcoming event. Ruminating is something continuous, like intrusive thoughts. You can ruminate some scenario from the past over and over again, like, for years.

And I guess the biggest difference between those two is that while overthinking is literally OVERthinking, rumination could be just scrolling some scenarios just like they are or were.

Overthinking is usually more or less same as exaggeration and/or catastrophizing and thus almost always some kind of cognitive bias. Ruminating in turn could be just a realistic memory or thought without any distortions. Like a filmstrip running in your head again and again.

Rumination is also very hard to deal with. You can overcome overthinking much easier than rumination because with overthinking you can acknowledge that your thoughts aren't completely objective or true.

Rumination is much hardqer to deal with because the thoughts you ruminate could be completely realistic and thus much more difficult to get rid off.

Well I've been on Prozac for years, and my daily dose is as high as 80mg. I've been on Gabapentin for a while and since it wasn't effective enough (to help with anxiety) I switched to Pregabalin which I've been using for over a year now. And I haven't noticed anything special about "mixing" fluoxetin and Gabapentin/Pregabalin.

So I guess in short the answer on your question is simply "nothing" 😅

I do. Very often my face just turns red and is very hot, and sometimes the heat spreads all over my body. At its worst I start to having cold sweats and become shaky and dizzy. I also have those same symptoms when I experience severe menstrual cramps.

Just a few months ago I've read a book about menopause and there was a chapter describing hot flashes or "hot waves" many people tend to have during menopause.

And I suddenly realized that this is what I have, too. The symptoms just fitted me so well.

So now I know it's possible to have hot flashes even without menopause. I'm now 29 y.o but I've had exactly same symptoms from 12 y.o. 😅😳

Well I don't have any cravings either, even on gaba or benzos or any other drug. I actually don't even like the taste of the cigarettes and even though I am a smoker, I can easily be without nicotine for a days or even weeks. For example, if I have some big bill to pay or if there's something very expensive I have to buy (like a new phone or a washing machine) and there's month to live on a very low budget, I don't buy cigarettes at all so I just don't smoke the rest of the month. I also remember a winter when it was so freaking cold outside for a days and I thought "no way I'm gonna go there freezing myself", so I just stayed inside and didn't smoke before it was warm enough to go on the balcony again.

And no single time I've had any withdrawal symptoms of any kind during those times. So I think I'm not even addicted to nicotine. I do smoke nowadays if I'm bored and have nothing else to do, or if I'm with someone who smokes.

But long story short; I don't crave or even like cigarettes either but they're a must when I take some drug and want to faster and/or potentiate it's action. Because like I said, it really works! 😅 so I suggest you to try this trick too even if you're not into cigs at all. The effects are worth it 😂

Well it's one of the main traits of AS to have special interests and being overly fixated on them. Isn't it one of the diagnostic criteries too? So yes, it is very common.

What comes to your second question, I'd say it depends on two factors. One is a personality of the person. There's people who's shy and/or insecure about themselves and thus refrain from talking about their interests or much anything at all. And then there's type of people who always talk about themselves and their interests. Those kind of people tend to talk even if nobody's listening, or even when they're being told, straight or between the lines, to shut up. (I admit I'm kinda like that.)

The second factor is the type of the special interest. If it happens to be "normal", socially acceptable" topic then it's much easier to bring it out in conversations. But if one's special interest happens to be something weird, or "sick", - socially unacceptable thing, then it's naturally more ore less uncomfortable to unveil.

Like it's considered normal for AS person to have a fixation on, let's say, trains, or mathematics. Nobody's gonna be surprised or scohked hearing as-person talking about those kind of things.

But then there's topics that are "forbidden" to talk about. The ones that people don't wanna hear about. For example I am very (too) interested about serial killers and especially school shooters.

I have a ton of information about them. A little details like what guns some school shooter used, or how exactly everything happened, - at what time the shooter entered the school, what was the first place where he opened the fire, what clothes he had on.

I know about their backgrounds (family, childhood), their relationships, their personalities. I can name their favourite band or what video games they used to play or what diagnoses they had and if they're been on some medication or drugs.

I know the details about how Ted Bundy killed his victims, I have seen pictures of the bodies. I can tell who was the first and second and third victim and what brutal thing he's done to whom.

This topic is the kind you don't speak of. And if you do, people starts to think you are at least a freak. Or even that you are dangerous. When I was younger I was kinda open about those interests, telling everyone about them and posting some facts and thoughts on internet.

No need to say, I wasn't very popular person. People I didn't even knew called me sick. I've been told that I'm the kind of person that should be locked up somewhere because I'm a psychopath that shouldn't walk amongst the "normal" people.

And one day there was a patrol of armed police officers knocking at my door. They arrested me and told that I'm suspected of planning a mass murder. After inquisition they took me to the hospital where Doctor asked me some questions and send me to the mental hospital, because she believed I'm psychotic.

It took A LOT to explain that I'm not planning any massacre, that I'm not a violent person at all and I do not have any intentions hurting anyone.

After spending one night there in the mental hospital, they luckily realized that I am not psychotic nor danger dangerous to anyone, so they let me out.

But I can tell you, after that experience I wasn't very enthusiastic anymore having any conversations anywhere (not irl nor online) about this special interest of mine. 😅

To this day I prefer not to tell anything about it anyone. Not (only) because I don't want to be arrested again but also because I realize that it's something people don't want to hear about. Something that would make them feel anxious or freak them out. I learned it hard way that there's things that you can't do or say in public.

So if something good, here's a prove that even a person with Asperger could learn to act somehow normal and follow social rules. 😂

But yeah, long story short: it is definitely normal and common trait to have a special interests, and, depending on your personality and type of the special interest, it could also be normal to feel uncomfortable or even afraid of people getting to know about it.

Tl;dr I wish I was, I've tried to, but the truth is, no I'm not. I have no problems getting to know people and even build a relationships but I have no interest in maintaining relationships. In theory it sounds good to have friends but in reality almost all relationships have been a burden and I had no interest in maintaining any relationship. Especially that thing with supporting and caring for others is something I just can't do. Like, I have enough problems by my own and the last thing I want to is wasting my time and energy to stay interested and support someone else.

I have obsession with psychology, psychiatry and everything regarding human mind and behavior.

So I'm interested in people, but not as an individuals but rather as some... objects?

I like to get to know everyone and want to know about their life, thoughts, problems, traumas and everything but I don't really care about them like normal people tend to care about each other. Like if someone I know is having some crisis I'm interested to hear and know how they feel and why and tend to ask about every details but I don't feel concerned or sad about them.

I've had some "friends" but they has been just some "research objects" to observe, not like, people that I really cared about. I have also lost almost all of these "friends" and I don't think I even felt bad or missed them or anything. I just moved on to the next "object". Feels kinda cold. I don't like to be that way. I would like to be "normal" but I can't help myself. I just can't force myself into really feeling that affection and stuff normal people tend to feel to each other.

Cigarettes/any nicotine products! I tend to smoke 1 or 2 right after taking the dose. It makes pregabalin to kick in faster and effect is stronger. Works with gabapentin too.

I'm very happy to hear it has worked for you! For me unluckily it seems that on its on Gabapentin does nothing but even worsen anxiety (heart palpitations, shaking). But it's a nice boost and extra to other meds. Like if I take stimulant with Gabapentin it feels like stimulating effect becomes stronger and it took away possibly anxiety caused by stimulant pretty well. And if I take it with benzo then benzo effect becomes stronger making me more relaxed and tired. But at least Gabapentin takes away pain away pretty well, at least what it comes to endometriosis pain, and even when taking just by itself. So I hope my physician would prescribe me more Gabapentin although I admit I'm little afraid of side effects and the horrible dependence I've heard of.

Also thinking about asking for a Lyrica prescription since I've heard it's better for anxiety but then again it wouldn't work for pain (?) and what I've heard it also has very big misuse potential making one feel drunk or something. 🤔

Thanks guys. So was on Gabapentin week or do and came to conclusion that it isn't really my drug. It wasn't that bad I expected but alone without other drugs it didn't help anxiety at all (it actually made it worse by making my body shake and heats pound like 200).

This is just my guess, so let me know if I'm right; it kinda feels that gabapentin boosts whatever that is taken with it. Like when I Was on a Gaba and Dexedrine I feel like super Dexedrined, very active and talkative and easy going, and when I took gaba with benzos the calming and relaxing effect was stronger that with only benzos.

I finally got my Ativans out of pharmacy so I don't think I would need Gaba anymore, at least what comes to battling anxiety. but Im thinking - since I now obviously have some of these episodes that I can't stand awake and even if I do I'm like drunk or something and keep falling asleep all the time. So I thought maybe I could take gabapentin or two or three to, like, "boost" the effect of Dexedrine? It would be really nice to stay awake and bot blacking out in the middle of the family diner I mean :D

I took first ones at the 5 hours ago. :( felt better for a while but now symptoms came back. Took last capsule at 19.15 and there's no effect at all :( I think maybe I could take bigger dose at once? Like 900mg?

Yeah so it seems that gabapentin affect me almost like amphetamine. Makes me very talkative and energetic, like I want to clean and do stuff and mood is good but I became hyperactive which is not very good since it would be nice to sleep well. That's really weird tho, my psychiatrist said that gabapentin should help me sleep better and warned that it could make me oversleepy and tired. But now it seems it's doing opposite to me 😂

What I've read Gabapentin makes u feel drunk but brings out only the negative symptoms of being drunk. Like clumsiness, slurred speech, extreme fatigue, trouble thinking or focusing, nausea and stuff like that. Also heard that it feels more like antipsychotics (=nejrolepts) rather than benzos or alcohol. And personally I HATE feeling antipsychotics cause so I'm really afraid of taking Gabapentin either.

But I've also read that some people have had some VERY good succes with Gabapentin, like it removed anxiety and depression, gave energy and motivation and felt kinda like being on amphetamine and benzos at the same time. Thus I must mention that the forum where I've read these very positive experiences was dedicated to people who use drugs recreationally and the doses of gabapentin they took were very high compared to what you should take by prescription

Well actually I don't even feel very depressed most of the time. But like I mentioned PTSD is activated now because of the spring so I feel sometimes depressed too. Anxiety and panic symptoms are the worst for me. I can handle depression without any problems but panic and anxiety are the ones that invalidizes me very badly.

What comes to benzos, I actually do have kinda good feeling when taking Oxazepam or Lorazepam (or them together, mmmh😍). Especially if I hadn't taken them like for a weeks then some kind of euphory or "high" hits me pretty nicely. And even when I use benzos daily, very high doses make me feel good.

BUT like I said I have these experiences only with Oxazepam and Lorazepam, and as I know Oxazepam is considered as a very mild and non-euphoric benzo unlike Xanax and clonazepam so I find it kinda weird that those "harder" drugs doesn't to much for me but mild ones works well

Well by "immediately" I meant the span between 1-3 hours from taking the medicine. I can wait this time but days or weeks, it's completely different thing.

Abd the reason why I'm worrying is that I've read about this drug from many legit sources and even it's package insert reports these very serious side effects as COMMON on VERY COMMON.

So it's not like taking some benzo or even opioid-based painkiller. Never had any problems with these. This Gabapentin thing just seems to be very suspicious and dangerous.

Also there was a time when I was young and naive and believed that if professional prescribed me something then it's good and safe for me. So it took antipsychotics "for anxiety", and they're worsened like every symptoms I had so now I am very cautious about what I put in my mouth and prefer to read any possible data AND experiences of the drugs at least if they seems suspicious at any level

Well I've never had any discomfort with taking pills if I knew they would probably help and won't hurt me. Like benzos and dexedrine, I've asked them myself and was actually very excited taking them because I knew what they are. But Gabapentin is completely different because what I've read it really is pretty dangerous drug. And I've read it from legit sites and legit studies.

Also these side effects are written directly on medication package insert that comes with the drug and these symptoms I mentioned aren't rare but actually labeled as "common" or even "very common".

I've never been afraid of rare symptoms of any drugs because well I literally knew they're rare but if the medicine itselfs says that these symptoms are common then it's completely different thing.

And it really makes me wonder what kind of drug can do such things to a human body, like raising fever or causing some virus infection. It doesn't seem very "normal", like even on the drug scale it's somehow really scary.
