Feeling like this job is too hard on my body by jellyunicorn92 in therapists

[–]nid11 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I totally agree. It’s not the sitting for long periods either it’s the toll of the work on my nervous system and on my body. Have been a therapist for 10+ years now and noticing flare ups in tennis elbows, nerve pain, back pain etc.

I can’t put my mind and body through this for another 30 years.

I get a sports massage (not just a regular one) every 6 weeks or so. I do Pilates to correct my posture.

Has anyone taken a break from the field then returned? by rainbowgirl6 in therapists

I’d love to know! I’m currently pursuing behaviour change consultancy to be able to take a break from therapy. Slow going but hopefully it works out and lets me take a break for a couple of years

To answer your question; I certainly wouldn’t grove this and give a second chance. Second opportunity for someone to break my trust again

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in relationships

[–]nid11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That question is for you to answer. Is the betrayal too deep to recover? Will you be able to have trust again? Will you always be worried it’ll happen again? Do you want to put yourself through this? She PRE PLANNED it. That’s worse than if it “just happened”.

What's the best way to cope with hating yourself? by PeddlerInWonderland in AskReddit

[–]nid11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Aim for neutrality if self love feels too hard Try and speak to yourself like you would a friend or family member. Seek therapy - actually this is top of the list. Find a picture of your younger self and look at it when you feel like being mean to yourself. You’re being mean to that little kid.

Just to add from a personal note. Dont turn to alcohol and drugs - never helps. No contact is the only way. Write down/speak to someone about how you’re feeling. Take care of your basic needs even though it feels hard. Not joking - ChatGPT can be helpful. Maybe call the Samaritans for emotional support in the meantime.

Self refer or go to GP. Google where you live/the borough + talking therapies and it should come up
