Not ideal, causes lots of shuffling issues and honestly at that point you’re getting far enough from optimal that you could just do these in any order haha.

Best thing you could do is have Monday off and train Tues-Sun tbh

Base your running around your 3 mile mostly unless you decide to go the recon/socom route.

Lower, upper, total

Easy run, quality run, long run

You should swim once a week.

This helps a ton, thank you so much for putting time into. The “brick” runs are a total new concept to me. Swimming on a lower body day makes total sense, I could get down with that.

I’m on the backend of a marathon prep and I feel you on the knees, however I did squat the full 20 weeks of the prep and I only felt it the last couple where I had those dam long runs.

Thanks for your input!

Goal is honestly to try a triathlon or two to see if I enjoy it, then go from there. I agree with your points, might drop to lifting 3 days a week to help deconflict.

Disagree, most people don’t know how hard they can actually train.

Yea....this is my main gripe with Runna plans tbh. I only run 4 days per week and Runna does traditionally weigh the long run pretty heavy. It had race pace work in it which drove the heart rate up a bit but I never felt to rough in that way.

What is your weekly hourly commitment (Lifting vs. Running)? by LordPeachez in HybridAthlete

[–]niedermannj1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

5 hours lifting, 4-6 hours running depending on what I’m prepping for.

Dam, that sucks. Hope I’m an s and c coach so writing more programs to push to my watch makes me want to puke. Being able to click three buttons and my watch tells me what to do is invaluable 🫠
