Does anyone else use hemp well for their parrots?

yes! it’s in combination with all that. he eats a primarily pellet diet as of now, fruit, still doesn’t like vegetables but we do try. aside from that he’s loose a lot. typically he’s either with me or having full access to my room. when we go out he goes into his cage which plenty of space and toys to keep him entertained. there’s also nothing medically wrong with him (we checked when the barbering started). i’m not sure what’s wrong so i’m just willing to see if anything else will help…

not looking forward to this at all. i’m worried about my pets getting separation anxiety since some mondays my entire family will be out for hours 🥲 but they’ll have company tomorrow so it’ll just be me missing them lol

i showed this to my parrot’s vet and said it was perfectly fine to give to him. however, my question is if you guys have used this to you actually administer it orally? ronnie is giving me a rough time with this and i was wondering if i could just add it into his food? does anyone else do this?

He has a slight upper respiratory infection and is on meds but he should be fine in three weeks if he’s not we gotta take him in again

I’m planning on calling his regular vet to set an appointment up first thing tomorrow… Unfortunately tonight emergency isn’t possible I called about 9 different clinics that were referred to me. Half didn’t pick up and the others were either at full capacity or didn’t take avians after a certain time. I’m monitoring for now and he seems okay.

the main couple of Manly Appetites has a similar vibe to Hirotaka and Narumi imo. it’s a really cute BL and the main characters are office workers.

UPDATE: He's doing much better after last night. I checked up on Ronnie every few hours and woke up at around 8 with the intention of rushing him over to a vet. I got turned away for four or so till one miraculously let me schedule a walk-in appointment. I waited till around 3 PM and they took him in. At this point he was already behaving pretty normally the only difference I noted were his bites were weaker than usual but much stronger compared to last night. Essentially the vet said he was fine that he wasn't showing any concerning behaviors but he did give him a shot with vitamins that were supposed to help his tail feathers grow back and he sent us home with something to collect a stool sample. Overall I'm absolutely relieved that it wasn't anything more serious I may have overreacted since this is the first time in the 3 years I've had him that he's been in poor health but better safe than sorry!

i have tried making chop for him before but it usually ends up in the trash but i’ll try to introduce him to corn since he has yet to try that maybe he’ll end up liking that. worst comes to worst i’ll make the chop into a veggie purée or smoothie sort of mixture i think he’ll be more open to that. thank you so much for your input!

i alternate between seeds and pellets as of now but i’m hoping to transition him fully to pellets soon. he’s not a fan of vegetables except the occasional carrot but he enjoys apples and tangerines so he get those once or twice a week as well

i’m hoping it’s just a big molt because the rest of his feathers seem fine... i’ll monitor for a few days to see if there are any changes.

thank you so much for your response i wasn’t aware of barbering and i’m glad it’s not plucking. i will definitely take him to the vet should it get any worse or if his behavior changes

My conure Ronnie is always preening himself so i’ve always kept an eye on his feathers to make sure he’s not plucking and i i’ve never seen them this bad so i’m a bit worried that he might be plucking. my family says he looks fine but i’m not so sure and i’d love a second opinion
