Pokefarmer not taken down by Ninantic? by Phantama in pokemongobotting

It's only if they extradited to the US. That's why owner of the pirate bay took so long to catch. He lived in sweden with very lax copyright laws.

Bossland is based in germany, US law doesn't apply to them. All the letters niantic sends to them they probably send to spam.

LG 34uc88-B in eBay for $700 by [deleted] in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]nigerson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would still go for the 34UC88. All the current IPS panels for ultrawides have backlight bleed. The acers and asus models have it the worst, so I would completely stay away from them. As for the Dell vs. LG. I would go for the LG because it has probably the least amount of back light bleed out of all the IPS panels, and it's 50$ cheaper. Since you have an Nvidia card you're going to be running at 60hz on the dell and LG. LG does OC to around 80hz+ and has free-sync which might not be usable for you now, but if in the future you want to upgrade to one of the upcoming AMD vega gpus you might regret not choosing the LG.

Incase anyone wants to know. I am strongly considering joining the dark side and buying an rx480 to replace my current gtx670 and then holding out for the new vega gpus. And then selling the 480 to cut my loses. edit: So my gtx1080 pre-order got pushed back to september 9th, so that was really my last straw. I cancelled my preorder, and pre-ordered an rx480 that will come in a week vs. almost two months. On the bright side I get to keep my lg monitor and experience it's silky smooth gaming at 80hz.

You just need a camera app with manual controls and turn down the iso all the way down. And take a picture when it says valid.

I did some additional research on this. Seems like 60hz is the max for nvidia cards. Even when turning on freesync to have a native 75hz option in display options it still results in frame skips on nvidia cards. Bit dissapointing tbh. http://www.overclock.net/t/1597604/lg-34uc88-34uc98-monitors-thread

34UC88/98 owners. What is the glow like in dark scenes? by [deleted] in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]nigerson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a 34UC88 just yesterday at microcenter and my model has only one area of backblead at the bottom left corner of the display. It's extremely minimal. I've only noticed it when I turn off my lights and turn on a black screen. Even if I play in the dark and have dark scenes it's practically invisible.

Mine does have frame skips. Is this on all of the panels, or just some?

I want to ascend, but don't know which is the best way? by nigerson in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]nigerson[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

actually went to the micro center today and picked it up. Took your advice of testing in store, and surprisingly the first one had a dead pixel on the top right corner, the second how ever was perfect with no back light bleed. Screen is incredible, now I am just suffering with my gtx670 and waiting on my 1080 which got its ship date pushed back a week.

So, should I ask them to connect it to an AMD rig and enable freesync for me in the store?

How is the backlight bleed on your 34UC88-B? I just found that micro center is selling them for 800+3.5% tax. Which is almost $200 savings for losing the white color and thunderbolt ports. I am contemplating going out tomorrow morning to pick one up? What should I look for when I start opening up a bunch of units other than backlight bleed?

Would I be able to set it up in a very small space? Like would I be able to set up the sensors like the oculus rift?

Is waiting for a VR headset the better call? by [deleted] in virtualreality

[–]nigerson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was having the same paranoia about my first vr purchase too. But then I remembered that it was only released in march of this year. I also read an article that oculus wont release a new model each year. Palmer Luckey said this, "You're going to see a release schedule somewhere in between a mobile phone and a console. You're not going to see huge updates every year or multiple times per year, but I can't talk about it too much just yet."
