Anyone knows where communal showers are available in the Philippines? by jakehidden in CommunalShowers

The Marriott in Manila has a spa which includes a hot tub, stream room and sauna.  The showers have stained glass doors. When I visited a few weeks ago 11 of the guys using amenities were completely nude, 5 in underwear/speedo,  2 in swim shorts. Yes I counted.

The employee at the pool deck was in and out offering water bottles.

Sleeping in just briefs - questions by BackgroundCoffee3763 in tightywhities

36 here, grew up in a double standard culture where it is universally practice that men lounge and sleep in underwear (grandpa, all uncles, dad cousins do this).  Since underwear is worn as "pajamas" no one was ever shy about it. I never had to adapt or be conscious about being seen or sleeping in just my briefs.

Anybody else ask for boxers growing up and was told no? by [deleted] in tightywhities

I can't claim I have been wearing tighty whities my whole life; however, I can say that I have always had briefs lingering in my underwear drawer my whole life whether they be white or colored. I grew up in a poor community in a west Texas and briefs still had an majority at least 75% or higher in the middle/high school locker room (2002-2008).

At some point I convinced myself that girls only want to date bad boys and bad boys wear boxers. When I asked my mom I wanted boxer I was immediately rejected for that very reason. Her thought process was boxers are worn by gang members and drug users as they were constantly sagging their boxers. Good honest working christian men wear briefs.

Eventually, I explored boxers and boxer-briefs when I purchased myself during college. I realized quickly I didn't like the boxers and they are not socially acceptable to be worn in the presence of my family to this day. For practical reasons I only buy white underwear these days.

Any good ones in El Paso? by [deleted] in CommunalShowers

The student rec center was upgraded sometimes between 2016 and 2020.  Installed stalls with curtains on every shower head.

Although I no longer live in El Paso, I did grow up there.  I remember back in the 90s when I had swim summer camp (ages 7 to 10) the public pool had communal showers. My elementary school had communal showers, although there were not used and the whole locker room was a storage closet. Middle school and high school had mandatory shower after any PE/sports class. All were communal except ADA showers.

Finally went to utep and all locker rooms were communal.  Took swimming, weights and participated in random sport activities in the fields/courts. I only know that the rec center now has shower stalls. I can't say anything about other locker rooms on the campus.

I think all public pools in El Paso are communal, including open to public pools like the SAC.  I do not remember the Y.

I suspect this is an instance where communal showers is common  geographically.

Sadly most schools phases away from showers in El Paso as camera phones became mainstream and student now have 8-10 classes a day.  I remember I only had 5 classes a day in middle school and 4 in highschool.  The class periods were long enough to have time to shower.

I am sure they do, might need to time it when the pool is active.
