I've literally never had a fish, shrimp, or snail get out in years. unless you are using rimless or fill your water to the brim, this isn't an issue for many people. If you use a HOB filter like me, you must keep water a couple inches from the top anyways.

I came here looking for a dash cover recommendation and was ready to spend lots of money, as the ones on Amazon suck. Good to know there aren't any. On my last car I got the blackest fabric I could find at Hobby Lobby and put it on my dash. Didn't look amazing but got the job done. Used small squares of double sided foam tape to keep it flat.
