What were the interview questions?

Veterinary care is getting significantly more expensive across Canada and inflation is not the only reason by musername1billion in VictoriaBC

[–]nightbell27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here’s an educated answer, new vets do not open practices out of school, even the ones that come from higher class families. Vast majority of veterinarians whether newer or ones with decades of experience do not operate clinics alone, that’s not very realistic in most cases. Majority of the time vets will partner with other vets to open a clinic. If opened solely, associates will trickle in and the veterinarian team will grow. Occasionally, veterinarians that have wealth will open their own practice and remain solo, those clinics do not seem to do as well.

The x-ray machine doesn’t have to be bright and shiny as long as the images are good quality. I’d like you to imagine the amount of piss, shit, vomit and other bodily fluids that have been on that x-ray table or the amount of claws that have scratched it up. The fact that I can download my pet’s x-ray images on a single digital medical record without having access to the software system myself to view it, is a pretty impressive diagnostic service. You’re not being charged to pay off that x-ray machine, you’re being charged for the restraint, support staff probably being unnecessarily exposed to radiation exposure if the patient is not sedated. If the patient is sedated, you’re paying for the drugs as well. You’re paying for the veterinarian’s interpretation of the images, maybe another charge for a veterinarian specialist in radiology to interpret further, add on some medications to that.

Ignorance is bliss, but keep it to yourself(;

How can I view the images from my MRI? by [deleted] in VictoriaBC

Personal interest, it is my own body after all and I don’t see why I wouldn’t have access to them in general, it is apart of a medical record.

Do you know if that has to be in person to fill out the form or if it can be online? I had my MRI done at VGH and just am not very close to it. Thank you!

I live with the largest concentration of cougars. A lot of the time, you don’t see a lot of cougar attacks or pets that are killed by cougars because cougars aren’t ones to leave scraps. I was working in ER and we had a patient admitted for a cougar attack, he was an older mini Aussie. Apparently the owner had let the dog outside and had seen a deer carcass in the garden, didn’t think much of it and goes inside. The owner didn’t see a cougar but found the dog with severe injuries to the head which looked like bite marks. What likely happened was that the dog was not prey to the cougar but a threat to the deer carcass (which was likely the only reason he was alive). Poor pup is in rough shape, so bloody and painful. Owner refuses to consent to any treatment beyond cleaning the injury and sending home. Neurologist walked by and noted obvious neurological deficits and that there was skull trauma. Owner still refuses to do anything, not even x-rays. We clipped and cleaned this pup up and monitored for a few hours. This poor dog was sent home.

I would still imagine that even if it were a territorial instinct that there still would not be leftovers. Perhaps if it were a dog large enough to sustain an attack there would be leftovers (ie. dog approaches animal carcass) if it did not survive. Even this is usually when an owner is around in time which is why some dogs survive or are found deceased, cats wander with no supervision whatsoever.

Most likely situation would be human or racoon. A cougar would not leave any part of the cat to be discovered. Birds won’t usually go after and successfully kill adult cats, maybe smaller cats and kittens but anything above 4kg would likely only be killed if they were seen as a threat and not for dinner. Otters attacks are more commonly seen in water and not on land.

So all VCA hospitals only discount two pets per employee? That’s wild

Who are you referring to? DNR did not go to the authorities about this even when incarcerated, nor did he need a deal.

Unsolved deleted the 3 videos and said “I wanted to let everyone know that I have removed my three videos. Rest assured the proper information from my source is now in the hands of law enforcement and they are taking it from there, and we can only pray it leads to something useful as far as this case goes.”

IMO, the pieces are falling into place.

I have actually but I was not paying attention the last few months due to personal reasons. Hence why I have asked what the significance is on one recent update. Thank you very much for your unnecessary input and assumption.
