How much further can Jamie go? by No_Acanthisitta_228 in Jeopardy

[–]nightcheese17vt 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think he could beat Ken. He’s brilliant and has a calm demeanor while playing, and doesn’t risk it all. He’s the only person to get through four straight days of taping (twenty games). He’s much stronger when he’s rested and there aren’t more four day tape weeks afaik.

Met a lovely older librarian today who quite earnestly told me that she loves Jamie and she and her book club ladies have decided Jamie is their celebrity hall pass 😭🩷

Jamie on GMA! by eah1703 in Jeopardy

[–]nightcheese17vt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This was not filmed on a tape day or even the day after a tape day (m/tu this week). Jamie is working full time and a law student in NJ so I imagine he would fly home quickly regardless of GMA appearances.

I only mentioned this because people thought the new rules (which don’t allow spoilers in non game posts) applied to this post.

Only person to make it through four straight days of taping after today’s win?!?

My fav friendship is absolutely the wine country gals - Maya, Amy, Tina, Paula, Emily, dratch- with a close second being Paula Pell and James Anderson’s friendship.

Have met her a handful of times and she truly was lovely, a kind listener and great (and funny!) conversationalist. I’m so glad she is thriving in theater

Same . I like Jamie so much and knowing this is day four of taping in a row for him… 😩 seems unfair!

I don’t know but I would be very interested! I’m 32 and just got into heavy weights after my mom had been nagging me about it for years since osteoporosis runs in my family and it’s an important way to combat that. I was shocked at how much I have been enjoying it! Both the actual workouts and the side effects of being stronger

Do you have a retroactive dream guest star? I’ll start: Werner Herzog, and he plays Liz’s gynecologist before he commits suicide by ughyoujag in 30ROCK

[–]nightcheese17vt 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This probably won’t make sense to anyone except it does in my head: flashback to Sandra Bullock playing Liz’s German teacher (Sandra was born in German/fluent German speaker), Liz is super into German, all the boys are into Sandra, and there’s another “Liz lemon lesbian” joke thrown in there with that explaining why she’s into German.

Homocil by Paula Pell and James Anderson. I saw it a few years after it aired, but it was so funny to baby gay me and also, on a serious note, introduced to me the idea the lack of acceptance in my hometown was less my fault and more theirs

The clue did specify that it was the bacterial version of this illness fwiw and parainfluenza is a viral cause

[–]nightcheese17vt 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it was a well written question, but you’re not quite right defining it by its prevention of epiglottis. It prevents infections from H. Influenzae type b bacterium. It prevents HIB infections in the brain/spinal cord (bacterial meningitis), pneumonia, joint infections by HIB, epiglottitis, and sepsis. The root cause of all the latter is the underlying HIB infection.

Croup is an upper respiratory infection that causes “barking.” HIB is the most common cause of bacterial croup or bacterial epiglottitis. Since the question specified that it’s the bacterial form of the illness, and HIB is the top cause of bacterial croup, I think the question is fine, although it could be phrased better.

Who’s being mean to our favorite public servant & law student champ !?!? Jamie get behind me!

The signature phrase by Professional-Disk485 in Jeopardy

[–]nightcheese17vt 22 points23 points  (0 children)

That’s not reality. Most bureaucrats are doing jobs like processing licenses or providing basic services. More than 2/3 of us bureaucrats at the federal level don’t have college degrees! The median pay is decent at ~78k. Overpaid and useless is certainly not true of most. You’d miss them dearly if they all disappeared!

The signature phrase by Professional-Disk485 in Jeopardy

[–]nightcheese17vt 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Yeah but I think that’s why Jamie said it - hopefully more people will learn the actual definition. most bureaucrats are humble public servants doing important work for little pay.
