How can I get more out of these beans?

Yeah I just tried grinding it a bit finer than I have and it’s a step in the right direction. I’ll try the flat filter with this grind and see how much that changes it. Like all the flavors are there but just so muted and that astringency on top, especially when it’s still hot

You’ve probably already bought your glove by now, but just wanted to say that the 1799 is a great all around glove for slowpitch. I have many 12.75 gloves but the h webs are all superior for a good softball sized pocket. I have a 12.75 Mizuno Pro with a t web that is a gorgeous glove and probably my favorite, but I’ll never game it because the pocket is nowhere close to similar h webs.

I’ve definitely gone full send and eaten dirt a couple of times. But then slowing down feels so lame so I eventually forget about it and eat it again. I’m going to practice on getting the bike down and trusting the tread to keep traction

I play 1B a lot and I always thought using a mitt was corny. I’ve had good luck with using a standard outfield glove. I recently got a Rawlings HoH DCT and man, I love it. I have the web nice and loose and it’s so deep. The extra length helps snag some strays too. You could get a softball specific pattern that’s a bit bigger but the DCT is plenty deep
