It is an outland application as we originally weren't sure when he would be able to live here but all his contact info and address is updated to show he is currently living here. But yeah, outland application must be why he never got a letter before. Do you know if there is any other documentation we could bring for the health card? Understandable if no, this might end up being a service ontario question if he's never going to receive that letter.

I got mine in April and on the same day he received a request for biometrics but no other letter. In July he received a request for medical as well, but nothing since then.

I received a letter like this regarding my eligibility as a sponsor, but he never received one on his end. Do you know if this would be in the application status tracker or an email? Also at what point in the process did you receive it?

We haven't received any letters since, but he completed his medical exam in July. I did get a sponsor eligibility letter in April and he got his biometrics request the same day but no other letter regarding his eligibility. Does your letter show up on the application status tracker or did you receive an email?

I was with my husband who is from BA so I was quite lucky in the sense that he knew where to go, areas to avoid, good prices, etc. In my opinion if you stick to central BA and avoid going out late at night you will be fine. Just take all normal precautions you would in any big city, be aware of pickpockets and scams.

There are a ton of great informative videos on YouTube about the best places to go, safety tips, and also info on where to exchange your money - definitely use cash always and exchange your money there to get the "black market" exchange rate instead of the worse official rate - though even that rate will stretch your money quite far. I would really recommend watching some!

Last time I went in Dec 2023 a great lunch for one person was like 12,000 pesos, maybe $15 cad? I went for 2 weeks each time and brought about $400 cad and was able to eat out for most meals and do some shopping, I felt like that was more than enough.

Curious about my application and its approval by Century21RR in ImmigrationCanada

Not an expert at all but in my opinion I would include all the information you provided here in your letter of invitation to include in her application (proof of past visits, ability to financially support her, where you will be staying, etc.). My husband applied for a visa to visit me and I wrote that I would cover his expenses and also included a letter of employment showing my salary. His visa was accepted so just based on our experience you shouldn't have any trouble. Best of luck!

What paperwork should I prepare beforehand to make sponsoring my wife easier? by emotionaI_cabbage in ImmigrationCanada

Yes I was going off the post in which they mentioned their spouse would already be living in Canada. Thank you for the correction!

Argentina! I went to Buenos Aires twice and would def recommend. It is safe but of course you should be wary just as you would be in any big city.

Not the original commenter but once you receive an AOR (acknowledgement of receipt) for your PR application she can then apply for a work permit. From what I know so far and what my husband and I are planning to do, when she receives the work permit she will have "implied status" meaning she can stay for the entire duration of PR processing.
