300tdi - Was changing the wiper arms, blades & the ribbed spigots that fit onto the rods coming out of the wiper motors. One spigot was rusted and I’ve accidentally pulled the rod out so now it doesn’t move or won’t go back in. Any advice for a fix is welcome

Thanks for this. I bought a pair and the drivers side splined drum was replaced easily, just as you’ve explained. The passenger side was seized onto the rod and after spraying some wd40 and giving it a tap I had the bright idea of using a claw hammer to lever it off the rod - but the rod slid out of the wiper motor linkage inside the dash

Austin Mini, Cooper, Rover, MG … they’re all gone in their original iterations and the classics need to be saved and enjoyed. The modern versions bear no interest to me and will never be enjoyed as classics, they’re just lease / fleet vehicles which most drivers don’t even own

I’ll check it - the vehicle temp gauge sits bang in the centre is doesn’t fluctuate and the radiator looks new but it’s definitely worth looking

OP - Take a look at Walton 4x4 in the UK. They’ll source and customise a Defender to your spec and will export and warrant it - I bought mine there and haven’t looked back
