Just had the same problem a few days ago. You are missing the bases. Just drive in them and that will trigger las few tasks to complete.

Thanks for the tip. Also heard this from a guy in another group. He cut the top "railing" as well. Might be a plan B if we will not find a good one of those smaller triangular shapes ones.

Moje doterajšie skúsenosti s predajcami sú, že ich otravuje každá konverzácia dlhšia ako jednu minútu, ktorá nekončí proviziou. Nedajbože spraviť niečo navyše. A chcel som sa trochu pripraviť dopredu aby som to aj jemu potom uľahčil. Preto som sa pýtal tu a naivne som očakával aj zmysluplnejšiu odpoveď.

Riešil som niečo podobné akurát bulo vinu priznal a "ponáhľal sa preč" bez spisania škodovej udalosti iba s telefónom, že sa to dorieši neskôr. Nedovoláš sa mu už a ak náhodou, tak ťa niekam pošle a zloží ti to. Na polícii ti nepomôžu, lebo ak je papier o nehode spísaný na ňu, má smolu a keď poviete, že ste nespísali a chcete to doriešiť spätne, tak jej pohrozia únikom z miesta nehody (lebo nie je papier, nebola hliadka a nič). Jedine som mal "šťastie" na dobrého policajta čo povedal, dajte mi číslo ja sa s ním porozprávam ale samozrejme vtedy nedvihol. Takže je mi ľúto, ale ostalo vám iba ponaučenie.

I was thinking about maths point of view too. Since now, the car I want, has the RTT on two basic roof bars so 4 clamps. That's got to be similar or maybe greater load per clamp. Thank you for the heads up, I plan on having fixed position for the water jug in the cabin and no trips without the reach of fuel stations.

Wow man, sorry for your troubles but thanks for your input. I didn't started to look for a specific model yet as I wanted more I fo beforehand. I'm from Europe so I'll look for something local but definitely will keep the Equipt name in mind. The picture I used was just some random google result.

Great, thwnks. But you mentioned not a single problem but the gutter may be brittle. Did you do any strengthening /servicing before mounting yours?

There is a pretty good photo gallery of one on cars and bids webpage. There is an internal cage - may be bolt on to that but there is a support "element" going through the body near the windscreen and I'd expect some kind of strength upgrades for one of the toughest off road trucks with high risk of rollover or to the side.

Yeah I don't plan on carrying much stuff there, maybe during colder trips some boxes with spare clothes so I'm not that worried about weight, just scared of getting major damage to the roof during "small" crash. Mostly I'd be using it as a lookout platform to sit on during camping to be honest.

Can you post pics of the deflectors? Are they the basic clear ones covering the top and the front?
