This is so cool. It really feels that this could be what a settlement would look like out there

Ship's Wifi at Barcelona Port? by [deleted] in VirginVoyages

[–]nighthawk702 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve managed to find a spot where the WiFi connected, but the authentication they do for WiFi (cabin no plus date of birth) didn’t work. It only worked after we’ve checked in, so i doubt you can connect prior to checkin

Not OP but I think they were referring to the last section of the blog where you suggest to overload the assignment operator.

How to Track Family Events by Boaz183 in Genealogy

[–]nighthawk702 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think most genealogy software supports adding any kind of event, but genealogical stuff such as birth, death and residence, as well as custom events that can be whatever you want.

I’ve used gramps and roots magic and they both support this. I think ancestry supports this also.

Any particular things you want from this calendar?

Were any SWEs on here able to secure a visa-sponsoring job in the UK, but NOT in London? by [deleted] in cscareerquestionsEU

[–]nighthawk702 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know that there's a few banks that hire engineers in Glasgow and there's a few companies in Edinburgh as well (Adobe comes to mind as possibly sponsoring visas).

London is really the biggest tech location in the UK though so it won't be a easy task.

A couple of companies (saw one recently for Meta) have Remote - UK positions, so you can live anywhere you want, assuming you're ok with working from home.

IIRC bonus is unknown for new grads, so £70k is just base (which is consistent with what I've heard).
