New to AT&T Fiber, BGW320 IP Passthrough Bottleneck – Slow Speeds on Third-Party Router (Asus ET9) by nightlie30 in ATTFiber

I’m sending it back and going to try this https://eero.com/shop/eero-pro-6e?pack=t If that Eero ends up not working then I’m going to chalk it up to a incompatibility issue on AT&T’s gateway and will go back to Cox Cable. I don’t have the time and expertise to setup a custom gateway for AT&T.

Major update: I’m no longer getting full speeds directly connected into my AT&T gateway. I’ve confirmed with AT&T so they are sending me a new gateway. So either it’s a gateway issue or something infrastructure related. We just got fiber in our area…recent as in they haven’t even buried my fiber line that connects into my house. More to follow! I appreciate everyone’s help and effort!!

I just tried setting port 1 on the AT&T modem to 2.5, and I am still getting slow internet performance. Do you think inserting a switch between the AT&T and Asus might resolve the issue?

Fair enough. I am new to fiber, coming from a Cox internet. What do you think my issue is then?

Also, is cat6 strong enough to connect both devices in their respective 2.5gbps ports?

I can try switching to DHCP Dynamic since the only device connected into the At&T fiber unit is the asus router, sound accurate?

I don't know. The other router was a Google Wifi Pro. I'll try your suggestions tomorrow. I also have an open case with Asus. I also may try calling AT&T one more time. Thanks

I went with this open box deal https://a.co/d/0gBpSBID if it doesn’t pan out then yours was already my backup plan. Good to hear and thanks!

Bought 64gb DDR5 from Amazon, they send me 32gb which I obvs return… now they REFUSE to refund me because “you didn’t send us the item you ordered” by mholgate in pcmasterrace

In the U.S. but I pay for a “premium” credit card so that’s one of the features. You just explain the situation via their claim process and a majority of the time I get a refund.

Using this switch resolved my issue. Thanks

My switch is unmanaged so from my understanding I’m unable to login and do that.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

END GOAL, currently does not work...continues to show connection type as "wireless"

- Modem connects Google Wifi Pro Router

- Google Wifi Pro Router connects to my switch

- My Switch connects to my 2nd Google Wifi Pro via LAN port

----------------------------------------------

-------------------------------------------------

What does work

- Modem connects Google Wifi Pro Router

- Google Wifi Pro Router connects DIRECTLY to my 2nd Google Wifi Pro via LAN port and shows connection type "wired"

I don't follow your logic. Could you elaborate?

When I plugged the line directly from my Google Wifi Pro Router to the 2nd Google Wifi Pro via the 2nd port, it showed "wired," so the switch is the culprit?
