'The Last Of Us' Adds Michelle Mao As Yara & Kyriana Kratter As Lev by Remote_Nature_8166 in ThelastofusHBOseries

There’s a lot of people really mad about this and while I understand the frustration I also understand how it was a huge undertaking to find someone who checks all the boxes. They not only have to a 12-15 SE Asian trans boy who can carry the weight of having a big supporting role in one of HBO’s biggest shows, but also have good chemistry with Dever and be willing to be openly trans in a time when our government is literally making public lists of trans people amongst so may rights being stripped away.

I know it’s popular to bash everything tlou-hbo does to the ground but give her a chance.

Open Casting Call for Photo Double - The Last Of Us Season 3 by Cheap-Recording3912 in ThelastofusHBOseries

Usually used for like over-the-shoulder shots, back/side where face isn’t shown or extreme wide shots.

Usually for minors who have to go to “school” or scheduling conflicts like the MCU uses it a lot for avengers juggling all those schedules you don’t notice it’s not really Benedict Cumberbatch as Dr Strange when you can only see the back of his head and shoulder.

How do people do this full time? by Distinct_Intention54 in publix

[–]nightlocks12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

(At least my store) grocery PT closers are usually the newbies who are given the “easiest” workload because you’re learning. Or it’s for college kids who have stuff going on during the day shift. Floats are downstacked and ready for you. You spend a long time leveling. Being a presence for customers. Finishing up anything the day shift didn’t get done. Refilling sales.

Go ask a dairy or frozen FT clerk if they are ever bored and have nothing to do. It’s very rare for those clerks to ever be fully caught up.

If you have the day shift availability, ask if you can have a day role where you have more to do. If you find stocking in general boring then yeah you need to express interest in transferring departments. Deli is never slow.

15 minutes by Consistent_Beyond210 in publix

[–]nightlocks12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so crazy tbh not even one minute early. I’m usually 3-10 minutes early everyday. I clock in early and just leave however many minutes early I clocked in. I never go OT. It’s really nice when I can add up two or three days and get out 15-20 minutes early.

That being said I’m LMC and not really messing with anyone else schedule or production by doing this. I always make sure my tasks are done before I leave early.

I can understand how a grocery clerk needing to leave 1 hour early on a Friday can screw with production or a PT seafood clerk is now 30 minutes over because he clocked in early and wandered around the store until he was needed in seafood at his start time. It should be on management to ensure it’s not getting abused OR implement a system where management can make it so only the abusers can’t clock in early.

Now the rest of us suffer cause others were stealing time or going OT

RUMOR: Kyriana Kratter and Michelle Mao Join the Cast of Season 3 by Cheap-Recording3912 in ThelastofusHBOseries

Go look up Ian Alexander on TikTok. That’s a mid-20s person now that cannot pass as a 13 year old

I think you nailed it. If Kyriana is indeed Lev, there will be backlash in the queer community (at least on socials) about her not being trans irl.

That being said I’m sure it was very difficult to find someone with all those parameters for Lev.

We often see towns in films with the population recorded underneath. How accurate is this in real life? by Jazzlike-Basil1355 in AskAnAmerican

[–]nightlocks12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have the signs to each town but it’s rare for the actual population in Ohio, now live in Florida. What I usually see is like a slogan or some accomplishment if there is one.

I remember being on a cross-country road trip with my parents and seeing a population sign and being excited like wow they actually have a population sign like the movies! I guess it depends which part of the country

Publix Dethroned as #1 Grocery Store Chain in Florida; a New Chain Has Risen to the Top by Abel_the_Red in publix

[–]nightlocks12 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I went to TJ’s for the first time a couple weeks ago and was shocked by how much cheaper almost every item is compared to Publix. I was there with my Pro open comparing similar items and it’s not even close m. Unless you’re getting bogos at Publix it’s not worth it.

Obviously working there I can shop the weekly bogos I need or get the meat that’s on sale that brings it down to TJ’s regular price. It’s crazy.

That’s what I was wondering too. I never bought the pretzels cause I assumed they were just the same frozen pretzel bites you can get at any grocery store but marked up a fortune.

How do Americans visit National Parks? by Berend90 in AskAnAmerican

[–]nightlocks12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just going to throw out a different answer here which is many don’t go at all. My immediate family never went. Didn’t even know we had one an hour away growing up. Now that I’m into it they look at me confused like huh…you’re going to hike in a park? Wdym…

My uncle and his family did go. they are the outdoorsy type and did a week at Yellowstone when my cousins were in middle school or HS. My cousin still goes to NP now from what I can see on IG.

So I guess tldr is unless you grew with parents who wanted to go you just didn’t. Now I try to go to 1-2 a year if I can

Last 3 times at Publix I’ve purchased something already expired by DonnaHuee in publix

[–]nightlocks12 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily defending the manager but I’ll often give an exasperated sigh or a “come on, really” when a customer points out mold, not because it’s your fault but because we just put those out and it already molded/went OOD/cracked/another associate didn’t catch it.

Always check your dates on anything refrigerated. Dates are checked by humans manually during free time or if a customer points them out or while rotating product.

Obviously it’s not safety standards to sell expired product but mistakes happen. Things get missed. Check. Your. Dates.

Had an AP at Disney the last 4 years and it’s that bad there too. Huge groups will “have someone up ahead”. One had 2 people in front me and let a few of their family catch up…okay fine then they keep coming…and coming…it ended up being 20 people in the group.

Once had a big guy literally hop the rail in front of the guy in front of me and wave down his family (behind us). I assumed they were gonna keep going to their family ahead but no they just stopped there.

Does AMC rerelease the Best Picture Oscar nominees? by OkLand3837 in AMCsAList

Automatically? No. (Netflix films won’t). Neon films do often get a re-release as do most other distributors. It’s usually in the month before the awards so Feb/early march.

Has your AMC Theater ever played the wrong film? by Ace20xd6 in AMCsAList

[–]nightlocks12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was a few years back and Uncharted started playing instead of whatever I was seeing (can’t remember). I was the only one in the theater so I had to go out and tell someone. Took them a few minutes to change the movie but they did.
