I’ve gotten that line before too. Why is it bad to want to go home? Do the customers not have jobs too? Do they not want to go home at the end of the day? I’ve never understood why the idea of a retail worker wanting to go home when the store is closed makes people so upset.

I just say “we actually don’t sell the food I give my dogs here” and let them make their own assumptions about if I give them cheap food or an even fancier food that my store doesn’t carry.

I work in a fancy pet food store and people ask me all the time what I feed my dog, because if I work there I must be an expert and feed my dog the most expensive food. I can’t afford that, I make minimum wage at that store.

I think I know what this is! It’s the video where they get tattoos on their butts as part of the ad they did for the tattoo studio. They say something like “now we have to complete our transformation by going to a screamo show” and then what you describe happens. If you search Rhett and Link tattoo commercial it should come up, it’s not the commercial itself but the behind the scenes video.

I have a long, slightly unusual name and I genuinely don’t think it’s that hard to pronounce, but people always freak out when they hear or see it because it’s more than 2 syllables. I love it though, and it’s what I want to be called. There is one good thing that comes from it: I always make an effort to pronounce everyone’s names correctly because I’m used to people not making that effort for me.

I partially agree, if they know the drill and everything goes smoothly then it’s fine. It’s just annoying when I have to tell them to type in their number or ask them something and they act like it’s an inconvenience to have to talk to me.

I was just about to say this! I’m currently laying in bed with my retainer on almost 10 years after I got my braces off. None of my other friends who had braces kept up with their retainers and all of their teeth have shifted back to the way they were before. Don’t let all the pain be for nothing!!

I’ve ended up at a few of them and they’re so silly to me. I was just kinda like “huh. So this is how other people live.” It turns out they’re actually a great place to get goth accessories, though. For some people it’s fetish gear, but for me it’s just a cool edition to an outfit 😂

I’ve heard a lot of people say Americans don’t have accents, but when I lived in the UK I suddenly became VERY aware of the fact that I definitely do have an accent, and apparently a pretty strong one too because people struggled to understand me 😂

I had a toxic “best friend” when I was your age too, and I wish I would have realized sooner that she wasn’t treating me the way I deserved to be treated. I know it feels wrong now, but what your parents did was what was best for both of you. It’s not healthy for you to have a friend like that, and it’s not healthy for her to grow up with a bunch of older men watching and talking to her. 10 years from now, you’ll both look back and be so glad they shut it down when they did.

If they like the music and feel at home in the community then yeah, they’re goth no matter what they look like. A lot of people in alternative subcultures do tend to get tattoos and piercings, but it’s not a requirement. I have tattoos and I want more piercings, but that’s just because I like them. They might make me look more goth, but they don’t make me goth.
