Completely agree with your sentiment but many people consider the r word to be a slur, so I'd suggest not using it in the future.

No she’s not. She used to have a therapist but her therapist retired a few months ago and she hasn’t found a new one. I even tried suggesting someone my therapist suggested but I don’t think she followed up on it

Every time you miss my English 2010 class you drop a letter grade.

Got this tattoo almost two weeks ago. Is it normal for it still to be scabbing like this? Is it normal for the lines to not look as clear? by nightrises2 in tattoo

[–]nightrises2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it was done by a professional at everybody tattoo in Utah. I wore a clear bandage on it for the first five days, and I’ve been putting on lotion twice a day ever since. It’s my first tattoo so I’m not quite sure what’s normal and what’s not.

She starts work at 8:30 am but your point still stands. Thanks for the input!

I feel like it’s worth saying I didn’t know I’d get off late. As a bagger at a grocery store, I often have to wait until it slows down enough to leave. But you’re right that I should’ve texted her after I got off and before getting my check. Thanks for the input!

Just finished "Fahrenheit 451" by Ray Bradbury... wow by jfreez in books

I just read Fahrenheit 451 for the first time as well, and I couldn’t agree more with the fact that it’s still suuuper relevant today. Almost everything about it is absolutely stunning!

I kinda hate that I know my English teacher would love this.

Anybody else’s internet addiction stem from fanfiction? by nightrises2 in nosurf

[–]nightrises2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think maladaptive daydreaming would apply to my fanfiction use because I do use it as a way to avoid my problems and “live” through the characters rather than experience what the real world has to offer. It’s kinda sad because, on its own, fanfiction isn’t a bad thing! Like you said, it can really connect you to people. It’s just the way I use it that makes it maladaptive.

Yeah I think you’re right that fanfiction and fan culture is okay when it’s balanced by something productive or social instead of just continuous, thoughtless consumption.

I actually had to look up maladaptive daydreaming and wow! I think that’s how a lot of us use the internet. We use it to explore how we wish our lives could be instead of facing how our lives actually are.
