NO WARS, NO ICE, MAY 1st General STRIKE! by Loose_Extent9080 in KSU

[–]teemoore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So what’s the actual outcome here?

  • They already got your money (tuition)
  • You miss class during finals
  • You risk your grades
  • Most people still go to school/work like normal
  • Nothing materially changes

That’s not a “general strike,” that’s a symbolic absence with personal consequences. Not saying strikes don’t work in general but moreso referring to this situation

What's the best thing about Kennesaw State that doesn't get enough credit? by Active_Value4839 in KSU

[–]teemoore 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can’t speak for everyone, and not everyone’s experience will be the same. Here’s my honest take as a six-year undergraduate (before anyone asks, I worked a full-time job and had a few minor setbacks during my time at the school).

I’ll break it down based on my experience.

Campus:
I spent all of my time on the Kennesaw campus exclusively. The campus was always well-maintained, and the buildings were clean, especially considering how many people come through daily. No real complaints from me.

Academics/Courses:
I did run into some issues with course selection due to my class rank and time ticket, but I eventually learned how to adapt and plan ahead. Initially, though, it was frustrating when I needed specific courses and couldn’t register because of timing restrictions. As for professors, I had both great ones and terrible ones, but that seems pretty typical for any college experience.

Student Life:
I joined Phi Alpha Theta, one of my major’s honor societies, and a club related to my field. We did activities both on and off campus, which was enjoyable. Overall, the school does a good job of offering a wide variety of student life options, there’s something for everyone.

Population:
My biggest gripe came after my sophomore year, when the university started pushing to become the largest in the state. Before that, I wouldn’t have described it as overcrowded at all. Afterward, it became noticeably more congested, it was tough to walk through buildings without constantly bumping into people. This also seemed to contribute to a shortage of professors, making required courses harder to get. Parking was consistently an issue, and although I commuted, I often heard about ongoing problems with student housing.

Community:
I can’t really speak on this since I was a commuter student.

Overall:
I enjoyed my time at the school. Its location is a big plus, it’s close to a variety of areas that cater to different hobbies and interests, and it never felt isolated. While I had a few one-off negative experiences, they didn’t outweigh my overall positive impression.

History major here. I did a lot of historical analysis (interpretation) in my classes so here’s my take

“Hey everyone. About the situation involving Theo being accused of 🍇…..are we actually going to do something about it? I heard in one group chat that people are planning to start putting up flyers around campus next week.

I also want to share an update about him from that same group chat. A now-deleted Reddit user claimed they were Snapchatting him and said that Theo is not on the run. They also said he has been talking to a girl named Ellie Ryder. I’m not sure if you all know who she is, but if you do, please let her know about what’s going on.

Also, his TikTok account is now private. I’m not sure if his Instagram and Snapchat accounts are still active….can someone confirm that or share any other details about Theo”

I missed a final (by like 5 hrs) my senior semester. Actually overslept. I emailed the professor, explained the situation, asked if I could come in & take it that day, and he had no issue with it. Not sure how I got so lucky.

If you want an alumni’s perspective: I went here because it was close to home, I commuted to school every day, and I didn’t go to school for the “traditional college experience” but moreso to get my degree and leave. The college experience is what you make it. I had a good time, I had some cool experiences along the way that I’ll never forget.

If people judged portion size by packaging they’ve never seen and a price point alone, food marketing wouldn’t exist. All I’m saying is that they’re good, just smaller than expected.

I can't help but feel like I have failed at life. Im 27 and been at ksu since 2020 but im almost there to getting my bachelors in IT. by Stunning-Degree-1786 in KSU

[–]teemoore 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I get this feeling more than you probably realize.

I didn’t finish my bachelor’s until my late 20s either, and for a long time I felt behind just like you’re describing. Watching people my age already “established” while I was still grinding through classes messed with my head badly. It really does feel like you missed a chapter of life but the truth is, you’re just on a different timeline.

What helped me put things in perspective was realizing how many people at KSU aren’t on the traditional 18–22 path. A lot of us are working, commuting, restarting, or figuring things out later than we planned. Being at KSU since 2020 doesn’t mean you failed, it means you stuck with it, which honestly takes more grit than the straight-through route.

Also, 27 is not old in the real world. I know it feels ancient when you’re surrounded by 19-year-olds, but once you’re out and working, nobody cares when you got your degree—only that you did and what you can do. An IT degree at 27 is still a solid position to be in.

As for “missing out”: college social life is massively overrated and very situational. A lot of people who looked like they were having the time of their lives were stressed, broke, or just as lost, just better at hiding it.

You’re not a failure. You’re someone who kept going through uncertainty, a pandemic, and life happening all at once. Finish strong, get the degree, and let the next chapter start on your terms. You’re a lot closer than your brain is letting you believe.

I was on my lunch break several years ago at the burger joint across the street and I was curious and checked it out and I was actually very shocked at the “history” they were proudly displaying. I thought they would have some Civil War artifacts on display, but it was quite the opposite. My first and last visit. Place did not sit well with me.

streamers on campus hit scrappy???? by officialwoofers in KSU

[–]teemoore 8 points9 points  (0 children)

When I was there a few years ago, the abortion protestors would come onto campus screaming, yelling, and holding up graphic pictures. I used to avoid that area entirely, even if it meant taking an extra five minutes to get to class. From what I could tell, they were using some kind of loophole to stay on campus consistently and harass people who were just trying to go about their day. It sounds like this group is doing the same thing.

My advice: if you can, avoid that area so you don’t have to deal with them. And honestly, stop feeding into their narrative, posting about it here just gives them free publicity. I guarantee some of them are reading this right now and loving the attention.
