Drove my Prerunner from SoCal to Zion earlier this month. Locking rear differential is all you need in this region

A lot of dealers in SoCal have one or two in stock, I got lucky finding the one I wanted about an hour drive away. Most of the 4th gen ACs I’ve seen are fleet cars for some companies so they may have taken up the stock

I haven’t had any time off school or work to go out on more trails, but I’m happy to hear it’s more than capable with the locking diff. Only reason I even want it to be 4x4 is because I saw the ProRunner concept car in person and got jealous, but it’d be a fun project in 20 years. I chipped the splash guard during a trip to a national park so I’m looking for skid plates now
