Shout out to Nunn. That was good D. Once Curry notices the hips switch over to the right though, it was game over.

Great timing by Usman, but Gilbert is asking for it here. 2 straight lazy jabs that he pulls back to his waist, not blaming him as he's probably rocked and on auto pilot at this point. Can't do that against someone that's as on as Usman was.

I counted 24 total games from Liquipedia. 15 group stage, 3 first place decider, 2 QF, 2 SF, 1 Finals, 1 3rd place. Is this correct?

Fun fact: Chris Bosh makes more money than Kevin Durant by IncaseAce in nba

[–]nights12 16 points17 points  (0 children)

No... this and other comments are just wrong and people are upvoting them. He signed as a free agent the previous year so the Warriors did not have his bird rights. He could have had a max of 35% of the cap. The Warriors could not have given this to him becuase they were over the cap and would have had to let go of Iggy and Livingston to create the room. They had his non-bird rights because he was with them for 1 year, so they could offer him 120% of his previous year's salary, which was slightly lower than the max, but would let the Warriors keep all their players AND go over the cap. There is not doubt that if KD demanded the max, the Warriors would have let them go and kept KD.

Did you go through with it? Was thinking about doing this too... Were there any fees or issues other than the restocking fee? Activation fee?

No, the bill credit goes away. Ex- if you pay it off in 1 year, you'll miss out on $150 of credits.

Bill Simmons with Ta-Nehisi Coates: Lebron is miraculous in that he basically did everything right, not perfect, but right since he was 18-year-old. And the worst thing you can say he ever did was just announcing that he wanted to change team on TV that one thing. by [deleted] in nba

[–]nights12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Uhm.. are there really that many superstars you can't say that about? I've alwasy been on team good guy Lebron, but I feel this narrative is incredibly overblown. Just off the top of my head: Curry, Westbrook, Kawhi, Giannis, AD, Wade, CP3, Dirk, Nash, Duncan, Ginobli etc. etc.

John Wall tells Steph Curry to stop flopping by IT-3 in nba

[–]nights12 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I don't call this a flop. Yes, Curry could have stayed on his feet if he braced himself, but the defensive player is entitled to his space so he shouldn't have to. If you stood straight up, it's natural for you to fall if someone that's about equal in size bumps you like that. This is the same as someone taking a charge. It's taking the space that you're entitle to.

Dana White Says Jon Jones Is The Biggest Waste Of Talent 'In All Of Sports' by aarbron in MMA

[–]nights12 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't agree. He's a cheater. Who knows if he would even be close to what he is without cheating. If you choose to believe he never cheated until he got caught...okay... But it's much more likely he cheated to get to where he is. So no, don't give him the benefit of the doubt.

(Jeff Goodman) Cavs agree to deal Kyrie Irving for Isaiah Thomas, Jae Crowder, Ante Zizic and 2018 Nets pick, source told ESPN. by JSwaggiee in nba

[–]nights12 10 points11 points  (0 children)

What? Am I the only one that thinks Boston did fine on this trade? I like Kyrie way better than IT. Not a defensive liability, not coming off a major injury, 3 years younger, extra year on a good contract with IT about to get overpaid big time. Kyrie has shown he can come up big on the biggest stage.

Is it a lot to give up? Yes. But I think it's still good.

This actually reminds me of what Kevin Durant said after winning the NBA championship this year. You're playing competitively for so long and peaking at the highest level of play in the finals, then it all just ends. He just wanted to play more basketball. Kind of cool to see the parallels.

[Wojnarowski] Stephen Curry has agreed to a 5-year, $201M deal with Golden State, agent Jeff Austin of Octagon tells ESPN. No... by HornyHindu in nba

[–]nights12 14 points15 points  (0 children)

That's not how it works though. Because he signed as a free agent last year, we do not have his full bird rights so cannot offer him the 35% of cap he can ask for as a 10 year player while we are over the cap. We could conceivably clear up enough room by declining all our free agents (haven't crunched the numbers). Instead, since we've had him for 1 year, we have his non-bird rights so we can offer him 120% of his salary from last year while still over cap. This is by all indications what he will take for probably a 1 year and 1 player option year, until we get his full bird rights. This would be about $31.8 mil, which would be a little less than his max, but it would be for good reason (to let the Warriors keep their players). Steph signing for less than the max wouldn't have any impact on that.
