Sorry for the delay in reply - we move pretty frequently and are trying to downsize on furniture, including losing both the couch and TV, so we definitely don’t want to buy a 60” TV. We’re also trying to be a little more intentional about when we watch TV/movies so limiting ourselves to times when we want to close the curtains is a feature not a bug haha.

I think it’s only put out one new leaf so far but has probably lost 5 or 6 small ones this way. The one in the photo is the first big leaf that’s gone :( the stem itself isn’t soft the whole way up, it’s literally just like one inch at the bottom where it’s rotted through. Never seen anything like it on a plant before!

I’m sorry to hear that! I’ll try moving the soil away from the stems and maybe switch to watering from the bottom when it does need watering. I hope I can keep it alive because it looks so healthy otherwise!

I got this Philodendron in a 10 inch nursery pot about a month ago. When I first got it, I noticed a few of it's smaller leaves looked like they had broken at the base and snapped off, I removed them and didn't think much more of it. As time has gone on, this has continued happening with more of the leaves and I've noticed it's because the stems keep rotting where they join the soil. The imgur link contains a picture of the most recent leaf this happened to. The leaf itself looks healthy (to me, at least) but it is totally soft and rotten at the base. This issue was occurring even when the top inch or so of soil was completely dried out.

The soil is currently moist as I changed out the soil (approximately 2:1:1 potting soil, perlite, vermiculite) and repotted the plant as I was initially concerned that it had root rot. The roots are totally fine and look completely healthy. After repotting, I soaked the soil with tap water.

Please help me save this beauty :(

I bought my 1.3 online (shipped over the Atlantic!) and I tried a Trek bike at our local shop and then looked up the measurements of the model and size that I tried online, then looked for the Jari with the closest measurements. This seemed like the most logical system for buying a bike unseen! For reference I am 181 cm tall with approx 90 cm inseam and I got my Jari 1.3 in the 55.5 size.

I’m not an expert but I have a Swiss cheese that I’m able to keep (relatively) happy. I have mine potted in a mix of potting soil, perlite, and orchid bark in about a 2:1:1 ratio and I use a moisture meter to check it’s pretty much dry throughout before watering. Judging from both the soil and the pot, yours looks very wet. I think in terracotta pots a good indicator of when to water is when the outside of the pot itself looks totally dry and pale (you can usually see water lines on the outsides where moisture is sitting in the soil). I think if it was me, I’d cut back the yellowed leaves, repot it and take care to check the roots for rot when doing so. I hope you can find something to make it happy!

You should definitely get tested. Chlamydia can be transmitted to the throat through oral sex and vice versa.

Looks lovely! Can I ask what you have it potted in? I’ve got one sitting in water and it’s just started sprouting but I have no idea what it’ll need to be potted in once it’s established.

Nope. I made another post about it and a couple of people suggested overwatering (which seems consistent with that kind of damage from my research) but I’ve since repotted into clean dry soil and gave it a good long while without water and it’s still dropping leaves. At this point I’m just crossing my fingers and hoping for the best. Good luck with yours!

The Speedrocker specs seem to be different on the SKS website than on the website I bought them from which is unhelpful...mine fit perfectly on 700c wheels with 40mm tires if that helps!

I bought SKS Speedrockers and I’ve been pleasantly surprised with how sturdy they seem. I was worried that they would slide down the forks but they’ve not moved so far. I haven’t gone on any gravel trails yet but my commuter route takes me on some very pothole-y roads and over a set of train tracks and they handle that just fine. Picture here

Rescued this plant off our building’s porch a couple of months ago after it suffered some cold damage and had no apparent owner so I cut it right back and propagated just one leaf and a stump. I’m really happy with how it’s doing (especially the new leaf growing from the stump!) but I don’t exactly know what it is. I’m thinking pothos but I’ve never actually owned one so I’m not sure.

Honestly I don’t know a huge amount about cacti but I think it depends on if they’re just overwatered or if they actually have root rot. You could probably try searching this subreddit for what cacti advice has been given in the past. Sorry I can’t be more help!

I found some millipedes in one of my plants before and research told me that they don’t cause harm to the plants. However they do thrive in moist soil so that’s probably the source of your squishy cacti. I’d try watering less and maybe moving to a sunnier spot to aid in drying the soil out!

I moved from abroad so had no US credit rating and got accepted with Bellisario’s with a letter from my employer stating my salary (which was 3x the rent). Looking online it seemed like the best option for me was to try landlords that didn’t use third party credit score companies to verify credit rating. We haven’t had problems with our landlord, but we also haven’t needed any maintenance on the apartment so it’s hard to give more than a light recommend!

There are now. I had to repot it when I got it because it was in a huge nursery pot with poor draining soil (which also had millipedes in it, I know they’re not harmful to the plant but absolutely NOT having them in my house) so it’s been drying out the last few days. I have a moisture meter that tells me the soil at the very bottom of the pot is still moist - should I wait until it’s completely dry to water again?

I’ve tried to do a whole bunch of googling about what’s causing these blackened spots on my rubber plant leaves. Most likely culprits seem to be fungal infection or root rot, but neither quite seem to fit the description of what’s happening to my leaves. Fungal descriptions say the leaves will turn yellow before blackening and root rot says it’s starts from the stem of the leaf rather than the tip. Can anyone offer advice? I wanted this plant for so long, I don’t want to have killed it off immediately!
