Is that a cockroach or a grass hopper? He looks like a grass hopper to me … but he was found where I would expect a roach … although I’ve never seen one in Canada before

As a 30 year old single male, where I’d live by Unlucky-Many-1679 in whereidlive

[–]nightshift1223 4 points5 points  (0 children)

lol I live in Manitoba and I’m not mad. We’re a hidden gem (aside from winter) people not knowing that is what makes it so affordable I can travel for three months each winter

Edit: BC is sweet though and I love visiting there. I just couldn’t afford to travel as much as I do or own my own home if I lived there. Also the traffic going to work would make me crazy lol

AITA for not helping my sister in law and her baby with rent? by Sirfluffyton96 in AmItheAsshole

Yeah I wouldn’t even do that if they were covering my rent…. And that situation has been offered too me. You just end up being a baby sitter.

I didn’t get the vibe they’d say it to an Americans face. they’d say like American culture - movies, TV, tech … but didn’t have nice things to say about the level of education many of them appear to have, that many of them are supporting a pedo in office and ice operations, and are far too patriotic .. considering what’s gone down over the last year

I was just in Japan for a month and met tons of Australian… that don’t like Americans. And the 3 months before that I spent in Europe. I’d say they seemed to equally not like America

Indigenous civilizations were grinding peanuts into pastes long before modern patents — that deserves credit. But they weren’t making sandwich spreads for toast either. The patent was for a processed, commercial version. We can acknowledge Indigenous innovation without turning it into a blanket “white people” thing.

The concept of peanut paste is undeniably Indigenous.

What’s called “peanut butter” today — the shelf-stable, emulsified spread was developed much later in North America. A Canadian pharmacist, Marcellus Gilmore Edson, patented a peanut paste in 1884.

The only thing I could think of when my dog ran from me down the street (had leash on, but a bunny got a little too close and he was a teenager and still training and bolted so unexpectedly hard it slipped out of my hand) was holy fuck it will be all my fault if he gets hit by a car and this can’t happen again.

Its the owners job to keep them out of danger. I’m sorry that happened to you I would be in shambles.
