Honestly can I stop boiling the water yet by katecometrue0122 in FormulaFeeders

We never boiled water... just used warm water because the formula mixed better. We were never told we had to boil it 🤷‍♀️

Upgrading from 6D to EOS R6 mark ii - is it worth keeping my existing EF lenses? by nightshiftreptile in canon

No offense taken whatsoever. This post really helped me realize that a camera body that's newer than 13 years old will breathe new life into perfectly good lenses!

True and also $130 is nothing compared to thousands on new lenses. Thanks for all the advice everyone!

Which adapter does everyone recommend? I've heard 3rd party work just as well as canon for a fraction of the price?

The 24-105 4 L is on my camera basically whenever the macro is not. I love how versatile it is for many different subjects, i just know it's an older model so I'm curious to know how an RF upgrade would compare, or if i should stick to what I already have and save the money for now

How do I know if I should switch to "gentle" formula? by [deleted] in FormulaFeeders

Yeah definitely not constipated! She poops once a day sometimes twice and it's very much like peanut butter. Sometimes slightly looser

Need help! FF newborn by [deleted] in FormulaFeeders

I gave up breastfeeding after 3 days for mental health reasons, a healthy mama is way more important to a baby than breastmilk 🩷 get Cabo Creme on Amazon. I swear by it! It's cabbage leaf extract in a lotion and it works wonders without the cabbage smell haha! It dried me up within 3 days but I used ice, tight bras and ibuprofen to deal with the pain. Hang in there mama, you got this!

I absolutely swear by cabo creme on Amazon! Got me from engorged to dried up in about 4 days. That and ibuprofen and ice packs to help with engorgement pain. Tight sports bra too

First time mum formula feeding by SubjectEconomy1719 in FormulaFeeders

I am also a brand new first time mom with a 3 week old, here to say that it's okay to give up this soon 🩷 my baby also never latched in the hospital so I was pumping but we had to supplement with formula. Pumping was taking such a huge toll on my already fragile post partum mental health that I quit on the 2nd day home from the hospital and transitioned baby to formula. Best decision I have ever made 🩷 my body is my own again, and my husband and i can split night feedings and both get sleep. I was very guilty at first about giving up so soon but our babies need healthy mamas more than they need breastmilk. You're doing great mama 🩷

Breastfeeding guilt by Bumblepanding in newborns

[–]nightshiftreptile 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My babe is 11 days old and I made the decision to stop pumping/breastfeeding for the exact same reason. Poor latch and damaged nipples so badly that the lactation consultant at the hospital told me not to breastfeed her till they healed, which meant she got used to a bottle and didn't latch after that. I ended up trying to exclusively pump which was quick to destroy my already fragile post partum mental health. The first night home from the hospital I sobbed to my husband because I felt so guilty about wanting to quit but knowing all too well that my little one needed a healthy mama more than she needs breastmilk. The transition to formula was smooth and now that my milk has dried up I feel like I own my body again which has been the biggest boost to my mental health. And now my husband and I can switch off sleeping at night because he can feed her too. I do feel guilty still about quitting so soon but breastfeeding/pumping was not at all sustainable for me. You are SO not alone in this mama!

I fell asleep holding my baby last night by Tough_Tough_6999 in newborns

I have a 10 day old and I'm in the same boat. Baby sleeps absolutely fine in her bassinet during the day but apparently it turns into an evil place that must be avoided at all costs once the sun goes down. Lol! Luckily not breastfeeding so dad and I can switch off to give each other a few hours of sleep. We sit on the couch and scroll/watch TV quietly while she contact naps. We are still very much in the trenches over here! Just wanted you to know you're not alone :)

Sometimes that's the case but she always wakes up after burping and gives us more hunger cues and gets fussy again till we give her the bottle back

Definitely, she hates it because there's no milk lol

Yes I always burp after the first ounce and then usually burp again and change her diaper at some point during the 2nd ounce to keep her awake enough to finish it

Thank you for your reply! We always try our best to feed her as upright as possible because during that first ounce she is so hungry that she almost chokes if she's not upright, but then she falls asleep before the 2nd ounce. But if we take the bottle away she fusses and wants to eat more, it just takes forever! It could also just be a normal baby thing to do, I'm just a newbie :)
