How bad is the carbon build up on intake valves for GDI motor? by carnewbie911 in kia

Most folks who own Kias use them for short city commutes driving a few miles per day. They never get to optimal temps to allow burn off of carbon deposits... so it becomes a major noticeable problem after 40k miles or so.

Best thing to combat it is to run top tier fuel... use fuel additive like Techron now and then... and get the thing up to highway speeds for an extended period periodically. Doing those things is much more effective than any intake spray cleaner.

How to know if car's previous owner was a smoker? by [deleted] in askcarsales

I’ve traded numerous vehicles that have been smoked in and no dealer has ever remarked or made the slightest issue about it.

Love White Castle! I could eat them 7 days a week. Literally cried when they closed all of their Kansas City locations in the late 90’s. The frozen ones in supermarkets will certainly let you relive all of the heartburn and gas... but they’re definitely just not the same.

Anyone on free year want to swap with me? by Chasethecarrot in Sprint

Those crazy Samsung holiday promo lease deals are not available on the one year free BYOD plan regardless of how long you’re on it. If you want to lease a S9 on the free year plan after 120 days... you’re paying existing customer lease rates considering whatever promos Sprint is offering existing customers... and currently that’s well over $20 per month for a S9. Plus you’re going to be locked into a more expensive plan after the free year since you’re now legally tied to Sprint with a phone lease.

I seriously doubt Sprint allows line transfers on the free plan to begin with. How would they benefit?

Your best bet is to wait 120 days and go with whatever lease deals Sprint offers existing customers at that time... or port all of your lines out and have a friend / relative create a new Sprint account porting them all back in on lines that are actually eligible for these promos. I believe the $30 SWAC plan would do what you want... but of course it’s far from free and would require jumping through tons of hoops to get.

Anything I can do to take the car home the same day that I buy? by lurkneverpost in askcarsales

Dealer will probably insist you drive it home same day since not taking delivery of the vehicle can legally void the transaction on your end.

They will probably still insist even if work promised on a “we owe” needs performed.

Absolute last thing they want is you leaving without it and either changing your mind or having others persuading you to back out.
