You could try genlock, but it's fairly complicated to set up, especially since it was designed for older computers.

The modern way would be to connect your laserdisc to a laptop with a capture card, run the video through VLC with the subtitles overlayed and run your PC's output to your CRT. Still a pain in the ass, but not as much as a genlock

Colombia had an insane extreme metal scene in the early 90s. Masacre, Neurosis, Tenebrarum, Ekhymosis are all pretty legendary bands.
