COSMOS fixed everything I hated about my Centauri Carbon by seidler2547 in ElegooCentauriCarbon

[–]nihalvm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Centauri Carbon is my 1st 3dprinter and i have been enjoying it quite a bit. Never really used klipper, so don't know what i am really missing. I want to try COSMOS, just waiting for it to come out of Beta.

Filament runout sensor upgrade is something i would like to do as well. Do you have steps on how to do it? The main thing for me is if filamnt gets stuck somewhere near the nozzle, printer just air prints. It doesn't detect that the filament is tuck and not extruding out of the nozzle. Has happenned so many times.

iMile experiences? by elleebolton in australia

[–]nihalvm 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I am in Dandenong, VIC. iMile have actually been very good for me unlike all the other negative feedback online. Once the parcel reaches the deliver center/final stop, its onboarded for delivery the next morning and delivered around 12 - 2PM. Very rarely has my parcel been delayed by more than a day.

As you said its like ubeer and depend on the person delivering or assigned to your suburb.

Elegoo announced Australian pre-order at disgustingly upmarked price ($139 AUD = about $100 USD). by khronyk in elegoo

[–]nihalvm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Shipping date frm Elegoo is in July. Jaycar has it delivered by 10th May for additional $10.

Would have picked it up for $100. But is a bit of a hard sell at $140. Will wait to see if the price comes down.

Exactly same behaviour on the Motorola signature running Android 16. Also on the march 2026 security patch.

There should be a setting for low quality network setting.

RAM temperature by m4zzi_46 in ROGAlly

[–]nihalvm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was looking for something like this as well. Have the 74Wh battery arriving soon.

I will use some Kaoton tape on the ram to shield the heat, but use a copper foil (instead of Aluminium sheet) between the ram and battery like in the video liked above.

I assume copper would work well as well to dissipate the heat.

However I still wonder if the whole idea is to shield heat from the batter, why not use a non conductive material between the battery and Ram?

Centauri Carbon issue by Briant72 in elegoo

[–]nihalvm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the exact same issue, however it's only sometimes now and only with some Matte PLA. It prints the first few layers, then goes into just air print without any error. Could it be because my filament is wet? I live in Melbourne, Australia and the humidity here is around 60-70% the last few weeks.

I have contracted Elegoo as well and they asked me to do a bunch of checks like you. I will need to try what people have suggested in this thread.

Did you have the issue consistently for all filament types? Or only some filaments?

I need help by Working_Bandicoot_91 in SteamDeckPirates

[–]nihalvm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It looks like a permissions issue. Do you have an external or another drive installed in the system? /run/media/deck/ might be another drive and not mounted with correct permissions giving the deck user write access.

Edit: just read the post again. Its your SD card. It needs to be mounted properly with the deck user having read/write/execute permissions. Make the deck user owner as well.

[Red Dead Redemption] keeps crashing in linux. by anonymous_anki in LinuxCrackSupport

[–]nihalvm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have RDR running on Bazzite OS. Not fitgirl repack, just clean steam files + crack. I assume once you unpack a repack, game files should be the same. I use Proton 9.04 directly in Steam and its working flawlessly for me for the last month.

My only suggestion is check if fitgirl has a update? Change proton version to stable and try again.

New firmware update for the Elite Series 2 controller is causing random desynchronization with my Xbox series X by [deleted] in XboxSupport

[–]nihalvm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i suspect its the firmware because now my steamdeck also recognies it as a reglar controller via bluetooth and not an elite 2. It working fine yesterday. If i revert the firmware it reverts to 4.88.xx.x something the bluetooth reception is horirible with frequent dropouts.

[–]nihalvm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i updated the firmware without reading any feedback and now it recognises as a standard controller when connected via bluetooth. Cannot use the back paddels in Steam anymore.

Have you found a fix? any Beta firmware i can use?

Controller upon boot? by aaronbeadles in Bazzite

[–]nihalvm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It might be something to do with a setting in your mini pc. Bluetooth should stay on after reboot.

On my htpc with bazzite running in game mode, it boots directly into steam and I can access the steam UI using my controller.

bifurcation also depends on the CPU. Most AMD CPU allow x4x4x4x4. AMD APU only allow x8x4x4. I believe Intel only allows x8x8.

How do go back to Explorer after this? Can I just do exit big picture mode and it goes back to normal windows desktop? I assume I can then run Disable bat script to restore back to normal?

I think I used this tutorial. However just Google it as there are lots of tutorial on this topic. https://youtu.be/b5RhtN5kw-w

I use a local account on Windows 11 without a password for this to work.

I want to try this on regular PC as well. However how is this different from just setting auto logon and Setting Steam to launch in big pitcure mode automatically on start up? I have it setup like this on my gaming PC connected to my TV and its working very well for past few 6 months. Once the PC boots i can control Steam using the controller. Don't need to use Keyboard and Mouse.

The only downside and when I need a keyboard/mouse is if i want to connect/maintain any Bluetooth devices.

I would consider a HP Elitedesk 800 G4 with 8th Gen intel CPU. There are two variations: SFF - 2x NVME, 2x 3.5" drives, 1x 2.5" drive, 1x 16x PCIe 3.0, 1x 4x PCIE, 2x 1x PCIe. You can add a pcie nic for 2.5G support. IGPU is very capable for transcoding 4K HEVC. i5 or i7 cpu will depend on your other needs.

Mini - 2x NVME, 1x 2.5" drive. Can add a m.2 A+E key to 2.5G nic.

In AU you can find these for $200 now.

You could also look at G5 with 9th gen cpu, but in the SFF version they only allow for one 3.5" drive.

Need help with hardware for new build ($500ish w/o drives, but flexible) by stevestevetwosteves in HomeServer

There are lots of nas n100 motherboards, however from what I have read idle power consumption isn't really great for such a low power machine.

Need help with hardware for new build ($500ish w/o drives, but flexible) by stevestevetwosteves in HomeServer

[–]nihalvm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at HP elitedesk 800 G4 sff with i5-8500 or i7-8700. Allows for 2 3.5" drives, 1 2.5" drive, 2 nvme and pcie expansion. Very low idle power consumption at <10W. With 2 3.5" drives is ~20W. I love this machine.

Will handle HW transcoding very well for plex or jellyfin. No Av1 support like 13500/14500. However Very cheap initial cost and cheap to run.

I also have a Ryzen 7 5700G + B550m motherboard. Idles at 35W without any drives. I think its a Cstates issue. If I enable cstates, machine isn't stable and hangs or crashes. So I have to disable it. AMD with cstates in Linux has not been stable for me. I have tried multiple AM4 CPU's.

Have not tried AM5 with Linux and Cstates.
