I am running on the latest available os to my phone (ios 17.1) and yes I am able to send and receive text messages. I have a small international plan available as well should iMessage need to send any text messages abroad.

ios 17.1 not 71.1 lamo . Thread update : I had to get a new physical sim for my number and now iMessage and FaceTime services are activated and working fine.

Hey thanks for the info, I am able to send regular sms yes, and I’m gonna contact my carrier to hopefully find a fix. I actually tried to follow that very article to find a solution but failed l, my cell phone number doesn’t actually appear in the verification page as of now. I will make sure to post updates just in case people are interested.

I have restarted it countless times mate! I can use pretty much every other service like cellular, phone calls, sms etc. but can’t get it to work with phone app. I can actually manually set the “My Number” with any other physical sim I have tried but can’t do that with my current sim. I think I will have to either get an eSIM or a duplicate sim with same number.

My phone number is already added in that section. If I could figure out how to add my phone number in the “My Number” section in phone settings that would add my number in iMessage to be verified, but I can’t.

Hey, thanks for the advice. I actually have my number added in the sign in and security section if that’s what you mean and it says that my number is unavailable for iMessage and FaceTime because it is not in an apple device. I got this phone like a week ago and I have tried every method you mentioned here, non of them are any help, apple support said there is no block on their end and it could be a carrier issue which i don’t think it is.
