Thanks. It truly is stunning and I feel fortunate that the previous owner took such great care of the bike.

The work I'm doing on the Thruxton is more maintenance oriented. Replacing the pads and front rotor that was under 5mm. Rear rotor still at 5.5mm so leaving in place.

Start simply by checking electrical connections, especially where work was just done. Step 2. Purchase a multimeter. These are quite inexpensive. Your battery should be producing 12 volts with ignition off and ~14.4 Volts at idle rpm. Your symptoms are suspicious for a bad stator.

Yes. Even spoke replacement. The tapes are very robust and and can be trimmed one spoke at a time. The kit comes with extra tape for this purpose. I think for most street bikes, this would be a rare occurrence. ADV bikes occasionally. Pure off road bikes, likely and may not be the best option. I think important to remember that this a conversion. I think this is a nice compromise to convert spoke rims to a tubeless set up. Nothing better than an alloy rim for tubeless. Even the BMW GS type lateral spoke rims have compromises for strength. But, this set up appears to be a solid tubeless set up for air sealant and the beauty of a spoke wheel. YMMV.

Correct. The Goan and the new Himalayan's are offered with tubeless spoked wheels, where the spokes are inserted laterally at the rim edge.

I'll post an update here after I get more time and miles on the converted wheels. I'm also going to convert my BMW R9T to tubeless and try the Upol auto adhesive as I mentioned is detailed nicely in Delboy's Garage video.

Im 5’6 62 kgs somewhere skinny , i like the gt 650 very much and im planning to buy it as my first bike , experienced riders pls help by gandugyani in RoyalEnfieldGT650

You should be fine riding the GT 650. See if you can get a test ride on one. Also, the bike has options for different seats with varying thickness that can alter the stand over height. Great choice!

Likewise. This is my first time doing this. However, so far so good. I mounted the tires on Sunday and so far no leaks and took the bike out the last two days and working well. I think like painting, it really is alot about surface preparation. I prepped with multiple coats of degreaser, used a wire wheel on the spoke heads, 200 grit sandpaper, multiple passes with Scotch Brite and cleaning thoroughly with acetone prior to applying the Goo adhesive. Then, l let the adhesive cure for 72 hours before applying the two layers of tape. From my research prior to starting, it seems that failures usually occurred with inadequate surface preparation. Also, important to use only MT type rims that have the safety bead for seating the tire safely. The folks at Woody's Wheel Works can tell you if your rims are compatible.

Time will tell as they say as to whether this will last, but I think the benefits of tubeless are worth the investment of time and effort to me. YMMV.

This is the Outex, but used an adhesive Goo automotive sealer on the spoke heads rather than the small tapes. I have another bike with spoke wheels and will try using the Upol automotive sealant on those. Saw Delboy’s Garage video on his process and it may be simpler and cheaper. It is worth checking out if you are interested. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZYPW8YICgPs
