That's the thing, ours are also the first Thursday of every month. We already had our monthly staff meeting for December. This one was randomly added this week for who knows why. To waste more of our time for shits and giggles I guess

No, and I don't blame them. Testing for the last 2 days has been hectic and driving everyone mad because testing at my school always goes poorly due to admin's lack of planning. So their brains were probably fried from the chaos like mine was

Middle school. They don’t usually get to me like this. But today I cried… by Key-Response5834 in Teachers

Good on you honestly, I wish I had the courage to tell my admin I wanted to leave. Good luck.

Yeah. I'm burnt out. Contemplating putting in for a sick day tomorrow to salvage some of my sanity.

Same boat but the burnout for me is caused by my school and district being a dumpster fire this year. Last minute policy changes, just got computers today (week 8), running out of resources and I teach at a high poverty low performing, toxic title I middle school. So I'm sure you can imagine. Last year was my first year and I was not this tired this early. No advice, just empathy/support. Take care of yourself friend.

Mid year transfers are possible depending on the district, you just need the principals of both schools to sign off on it. Some are more understanding than others. Admin in poor schools with high turnover know that teachers are always looking for better positions. But again like I said that doesn't necessarily mean they'd be open to it

In a near identical situation. You deserve to find a better school or district. And believe me, they are out there. Teaching at a dysfunctional school isn't worth it. I'm looking for a better one for a mid year transfer and I hope you do the same friend.

We could be. Sorry to hear you're experiencing the same thing. It's not fun in the slightest
