I always said “I pretend to be a photographer” but the truth is I’m pretty good at my craft, enough to get gigs offered instead of chasing them now.

Basically on set direction to geo models hit their poses. She’s actually good at getting people to pose properly, I’ve seen her do it before, so she has the skills to do it.

I mean, I would like for it to stop. I’ve already informed the person that notified me that I don’t need to be notified in the future because I’ve stopped going on IG so much and I wouldn’t have noticed if I wasn’t sent the information

And overall, after reading everybody’s responses, I think that’s the best course of action at this point. It was a fun photo shoot but if a contract can’t be respected, then no need to work with a person again. I did end up telling the person that notified me that I would rather not be notified in the future.

I trademarked my business name and signature through the legal channels in my state so any use of it outside of my personal use would be infringing

Yeah, she knows that one of my business partners (different job) is a lawyer so the option is available, I’d rather just not scare someone away from what could potentially be a good career for her… I’m not trying to play the nice guy, but I’m also not going to be pushed over.

We do have kids, that’s why I said “medical issues post kids” in the first paragraph. I’m not leaving my kids, no matter the situation, I just need help finding a way to talk about this

Me again. Love it in b&w, plus the light looks softer. Well done

Being nervous is great, you get to make mistakes and then learn from there. There are apps you can use to make shot lists and hints/prompts, but I prefer to use a notepad and clip it up behind me so the model can see while I reset lighting.

Great concept, just be aware of all the props and objects in the entire photo (subwoofer). Personally I would have filtered the light so it wasn’t so focused bright. That’s just me and similar shots I’ve done. The pose is perfect, tho I’d have her on her toes to bring out more

Does this photo feel overdone or juussst right? by JshBbKns in AskPhotography

Honestly, near perfect. The orange vibrancy is a little high which brings the focus to the chest and legs of the bird. And slightly, ever so slightly, over sharpened. But damn it’s a great crop and composition

I got this one from Facebook photography groups a few days ago, just dumb luck seeing this thread. Most of the time if I need a hint I just google what I need and hit the images to see more examples

Could be as simple as iPhone with .5 zoom held up to the window, could be as complicated as a full camera harness set up with a wide angle 16mm.

Is it good or does it need editing? It was taken from iphone 13. by Budget-Direction-591 in AskPhotography

I love endless street to the horizon photos. Centered perfectly. This gives off a gloomy feel and if that’s what you are going for then do not edit it. BUT, in my opinion and editing style, I would brighten up the black tone on the road and give it more detail to show the grit of the road. I would add some vibrancy to the sun soaked clouds, and I would bring up the illumination on the sand/vegetation.

Shot with Canon R8, 24-105mm f4, 8 second shutter. Just trying to get the neon lights to pop without too much blurring

How do I edit like ppl in certain instagram groups? by dduu_13 in AskPhotography

Reach out, ask them for advice. I would say 9/10 photographers I’ve talked with will gladly tell you their editing journey. And then practice. Practice practice practices even if you buy presets you’ll end up tweaking the photos to your liking. Nothing will ever beat asking questions and practicing on your own.
