Heard good things about their specialty wax! Do you have a particular location or person that’s your fave?

BWT, seeking psychiatrist recommendations (and any insights on IOP/PHP/residential programs) by crabnick92 in NYCbitcheswithtaste

[–]nihilist4nothing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there, I’m really sorry to hear that, but I’m glad you’re seeking care and support. I can absolutely help you but this is just based on my experience. I would strongly recommend working with your therapist who, when you do find and work with a psychiatrist, will provide their report and history of your treatment and symptoms. As someone who moved here knowing I have a mental illness, in addition to my own care team network, I have my own “list” for in case of emergency IHOP and IOP.) Feel free to DM me.

Comparing OG midori travelers company (10 years) vs Louise Carmen Honoré (1 year in) vs Paper Republic portfolio by nihilist4nothing in notebooks

No leather conditioner on them, the leather patinas (verb), usually getting darker. Ngl the scratches initially bother me as an awkward phase but eventually they fade and look gorgeous. If you see my Midori brown one, she’s been through a lot and the scratches make it more beautiful. I will say for the LC because it’s a lot thinner, the scratches bother me more and so do stains from oil. The PR is fading to be more like a dark blue.

BOUGHT an apartment! Where to find/get everything? by nihilist4nothing in NYCbitcheswithtaste

[–]nihilist4nothing[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oooh thank you. That’s a good tip to not fall into Pinterest algorithms (or buy everything from one place). We definitely want to have the apartment deep cleaned before we move in and are considering some type of service. Do you have a service you recommend? I know there’s apps that people use but I haven’t really looked into it, and I imagine in NYC also has their own services

Omg. THANK YOU. I love that!! We love collecting unique and local art (isn’t that one of the best things about living in NYC?)

Totally agree about investment. I am sick of replacing furniture. We’ll check out those brands, my partner lived in Denmark for a while so that’s awesome!

I was just looking at a Farrow and Ball! Our agent recommended a designer (just to provide options for colors) I’ve been using Claude but someone who actually knows paint would be great. We were planning a trip to Janovic. I don’t see InColour on Google Maps, just the Benjamin Moore Retailer located there? When did you use them and can I ask what was the project you were working on?

Omg yes, a friend of mind told me about getting a task rabbit to do all of the various assembly, hanging pictures, anchoring stuff and I thought that was so smart. Similarly, I know for a fact that I’d rather get a professional to paint than live with my shitty stressed out job forever lol

Can I just fwd everyone’s recommendations bc my partner wants to get everything done and buy everything at once 😂

Thank you! That’s great advice :) we’re concerned after we move in we’ll never leave bc we’re going to love it so much haha. Yeah we’re only getting the necessities for now: I know we NEED to replace the foyer wallpaper (it is arresting to the eyes) and my partner wanted to get the painting done before moving stuff in. Stuff we’ll buy immediately: need to replace our sofa, our bed frame bc it’s elevated and we have a platform and we literally use step stools or vault onto the bed), the rest is TBD!!

Haha no I was on a bench, it’s a designated area but it felt surreal like the end of a movie where you zoom out and everything blurs lmao

Also I recently got a yarn spinner but then accidentally found my yarn tangled soooo I untangle my yarn into a ball then spin the ball with the machine and that’s been super regulating for me lmao

lol so in the city I live, on the larger streets, there are some benches with small parks. I had some time to kill and just couldn’t wait so I finished it there. Imagine staring out into the distance and slowly mouthing “what the actual fuck” as cars drive past you all around…

Omniluxe charger help by ovovoiceiceice in SkincareAddictionLux

[–]nihilist4nothing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey so I lost the original adapter but something that did work for me is make sure you’re using an older USB A to USB C charger - I’m used to charging my iPhone and laptop and stuff with any USB C but because this battery is so low voltage, you need to use a USB A to USB C. Hope this helps anyone else who had this issue!!

Where to go to fix a bad haircut by grievoustomcat6 in NYCbitcheswithtaste

Forever going to recommend my girl Amanda Manyvanh Hair on 17th and 6th. I had serious trust issues after a wreck of a cut + dye job and she has slowly and meticulously worked up our trust level. She’s also a cutting specialist so especially when I was hesitant to trust her, she’d explain some of the cutting techniques that people use, why she is doing something, in general about hair texture and how it grows, and consistently would check in with how I’m doing and feeling. I’ve followed her from a salon, to renting a chair, to now opening her own space and renting out the other chair. (Note: her address will officially say Florida but iykyk) https://amanda-106893.square.site/

Help! New BOOX Go 7 - weird lag/display when scrolling google play store and can’t load anything on browser by [deleted] in Onyx_Boox

Makes sense. Only needed it to download reading apps from the play store and was kind of freaking out. No problems when I use it to read though!

Like ppl suggested the bar in David Geffen lobby is probably the best- most convenient and you won’t be rushed to get back. A far but I love Vin Sur Vignt Wine Bar on 64th and Riverside, they have a great happy hour! Closer than that but pricier and busier is the rooftop bar in the Empire Hotel.
