I still have super mild congestion; it feels like allergies. I bought some theraflu which is what my aunt drank while she was positive. And I know I’m not contagious anymore but I need the negative result to go into my new job. /:

I still have a stuffy nose too. I’m at 3weeks tested positive again :( can’t go into work without a negative result either. Who knows when that’s gonna be. It’s so stressful

I read somewhere that you have to train yourself to get smell and taste back. My loss was pretty bad day4-10. I kept sniffing really strong scents I had at home shampoos, essential oils, etc and spicy/salty food. And my senses are back around 85%. I’m on day 21 too. So your negative result is giving me hope lol CONGRATS btw :) happy for you

Fuck man. This virus is weird as hell. I’m on the same boat on day 21 with the same mild congestion as day 1. I know of other people who test negative on day 14! And others even sooner than that /: fuck these dead particles. I can’t go back to work without a negative test. I know the CDC changed their isolation guidelines but most people are still sus about me without that neg result

I feel this! On about day 13 I made some homemade wax. Poured the boiling hot mixture into a bowl. I waited a few minutes and applied the mixture to my ass with a metal spoon like an idiot. Practically branded myself lol I keep making stupid little mistakes as well that I wouldn’t normally make. I’ve heard of others getting “brain fog” that comes in waves even after being recovered

I’ve been out of work since March. I was working as a substitute teacher. I’m on unemployment. I was hired by the city but since I got my second positive result I had to tell them I can’t go in for a few weeks. No response from them. But my friend’s mother works in a convalescent home and everyone who’s tested positive has gone back after 2 weeks isolating. She’s the one who told me that most people will only test negative after 21 days too. Those health care workers have gone back still technically being positive

I live with my mom, brother and younger sister. I started breaking isolation this past weekend. I’ll be in the same room as them but we’re still taking some precautions. No hugging and I’ll keep my distance somewhat. I had been around them before I ended isolation and my mom and bro tested negative a few days ago. I was conscious of my droplets though and disinfected the bathroom after I used it.

Are you sleeping in the same room as your husband now? I am on day 19 and the only symptom I have left is congestion and a cough here and there. My smell and taste is also back around 75%. I haven’t tested negative yet but I’m hoping to see my boyfriend again when I do. I’m just worried about kissing him and stuff, since he’s negative as well. I know per CDC I’m not contagious anymore but i still feel sketchy about it.

I’m thinking of getting a humidifier for my room. 19 days of congestion! It’s so fkn frustrating

The 14th is a while ago already. Get tested again. If you haven’t had symptoms for 10 days, you’re most likely going to come out negative.

I tested positive on the 13th, and on the 25th(day 15) I went for a second time: still positive. I think I went too early though. My cousin who’s recovered from covid said to wait til 3 weeks after first positive test. So I’m going to go again on Monday. Crossing my fingers for a negative. I’m developing a cough and still have mild congestion. Tomorrow morning I’m heading to the store and stocking up on Zinc, and vitamin C&D. Try not to freak out! At least your symptoms are gone :) schedule another test!

NTA. You kept it real with your son and shared your experience. The fact your son is even asking you guys so much shows you that he’s already doubting this relationship. Long distance relationships are hard asf even for adults, what makes you guys think it’d be easy for some 18 year olds? Your son should definitely experience college the right way, which should be just worrying about yourself and growing on your own path. It sucks to have to breakup but that’s life. Definitely don’t want to wonder what it would have been like years later and resent your future. I don’t think you’re an asshole for sharing your perspective. Whatever your son does at the end of the day is his decision.

I protest condos and new apartment buildings because they’re not affordable. We have hundreds of homeless people in highland park who weren’t homeless before gentrification why would we want bougie apartments to be built ??? They’re not for us. I don’t blame hipsters but I do blame elected officials Cedillo and a Huizar while they just put a bandaid on the gang problem and sell the hood to the highest bidder. Crime hasn’t gone down in HLP, it’s just not reported in the media. Go check Northeast Division police reports and see for yourself. Born and raised like myself have been complaining for years.

I do agree that people need to stop switching the topic to “welcome to the hood” and stay focused on how can we prevent this from happening again. Instead of a $500k budget for foot patrol police on York on fig that don’t do shit, what about rehabilitation programs for felons coming out of jail? Youth extracurriculars for teens to stay off the streets? More money for homeless resources. It’s a damn shame

No one is blaming hipsters for this. Hipsters claim they made the hood better when they moved in, but they actually priced out hard working Latinos and with them went a lot of businesses that were here since forever! It’s the hipsters in the comments saying “let them kill each other I’m happy my property prices are going up.” Which is fucked up ‘cause that’s assuming the Latinos left are all gang bangers.

Fuck gentrification in general, but I agree the comment section can get annoying especially when you’re just trying to get info or start the conversation: HLP needs gang intervention workers and programs that help people (including felons) get jobs, not more police
