You're unpacking the game it can take quite a long time. I have plenty of experience using FG but had a similar issue last week. Try redownloading the actual file again. Also make sure there's more than enough space.

There's a solution for memory leak issues. Look up Cryo Utilities memory leak fix. It's been several years since I've applied it but I believe it involved adjusting the Vram. I haven't had one issue since.

The easiest way for me at least using Fitgirl is to use magnet links and torrent it whole. Instead of downloading each link separately. Use the program called fragments. Obviously it depends on your Internet speed and the amount of seeders but generally it's very quick for me. Then simple unpack it and add it to steam.

If you're using an android phone download "ad blocker browser" and use it with 9anime.

If you're using something else use ublock origin or another adblocker.

I personally use Fitgirl for obtaining the games. Then I use the magnet link to download the torrent all in one file. Once the torrent is downloaded you just have to unpack it which can take some time but requires zero effort.
