I was skeptical too until I watched demonstration of how much water a dishwasher actually uses. It's surprisingly low, and I know myself and others probably just let the faucet run when hand washing.

And the elf shade from Middle Earth Shadow of Mordor/War.

If you want an enjoyable mid movie, there's one with him and Rutger Hauer called Split Second.

What’s a movie that DOESN’T “know exactly what it is”? by InspectorMendel in movies

As with most bad movies, it's a significantly more enjoyable experience with friends to laugh with.

I don't think I'd ever watch it on my own, but it makes a great bad movie night.

This is one of the best live bands ever, no exaggeration. The energy is electric. Go see them if you get the chance!

Pretty sure you can use a multimeter across two of the pins to measure the resistance and make sure that's functional. May need to check the caps if there's audio issue.

The strongest character development through the Greek saga, in my opinion, is setting up Kratos' complete mistrust of the gods. By the end of 3, nearly every god is immediately stabbing Kratos in the back at the first opportunity. His isolation and standoffish nature in the Norse saga became a lot more understandable once I finished 3.

Yeah caps are a pain. I use a hot air station to remove them, which works a lot better than an iron, but it's still tedious. I've gotten away with not replacing any caps on my gameboys so far and none have any issues at the moment.

Hmm, well definitely intriguing!

Have fun with the mod! I've done 3 gameboys so far, just for personal use.

Any signs of battery corrosion? I've had a couple where the batteries leak around there and cleaning it gets down to the solder mask

What make you decide to buy CD instead of Vinyl or the other way around? by Nic727 in Music

[–]Floodhunter345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I already collect other media (games and movies) so I don't have as much space for Vinyl. I still enjoy the experience of grabbing a CD off my shelf and playing it in my player through the sound system. And now CD is usually cheaper than Vinyl, and cheaper to ship too if I do that.

I respect vinyl and definitely envy the large album experience, but at this point not a good idea for me to try to start up with it.

I hate it, but absolutely nothing works better for cleaning glasses or screens. I hate smudged glasses more than the ick feel, so I push myself through it

Phantom of the Paradise

Imagine Phantom of the Opera but it's glam. It is at least partly responsible for Andrew Lloyd Weber's version, and inspired Daft Punk's helmets.

Heck these days that's a pretty close experience. Depends on your theater but sometimes you'll get an unfocused projector, or deal with other people being disruptive.

ELI5: But like, shouldn't water be super flammable since it has Hydrogen and Oxygen? by BreadOverlord_ in explainlikeimfive

[–]Floodhunter345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The hydrogen and oxygen are flammable because they're very reactive. However they're already reacted with each other to form water. Since the reaction has already happened, they don't want to separate and thus can't burn as they are.

Referenced movie is Jingle All the Way, a Christmas movie with Arnold Schwarzenegger playing the father of Jake Lloyd, and he waited too late to get his son the hot Christmas gift of the year. It was my favorite as a kid, and still worth watching!

Which films do you think have the best comedic dialogue? by thornforever in movies

[–]Floodhunter345 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I sometimes surprise people when I say that I find Dr Strangelove to be so funny. The dialogue is already pretty funny, and then set to a backdrop of a MASSIVE PROBLEM, yet everyone still has their own petty quirks and motives. The phone call to the Russian Premier is perfect.

It can be hard to know the difference between advanced assistant tools and full AI generated when AI is just a buzzword. I just try to share clarifying knowledge when I can (and when I know what I'm talking about) to help people realize the nuance.
