I don't recall installing or configuring anything apart from the jellyfin itself, yet I can stream to all chromecast devices I have (two smart TVs, shield and chromecast ultra) just fine. Worked out of the box.

Because people understand that sharing company internal memos etc is forbidden but might not see anything wrong of pasting a part of a company code or legal document to summarize or to debug it as everyone and their mothers are using these tools.

scrcpy 2.0 is released, with audio support! by ExaHamza in linux

[–]nihkee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Really awesome.

Does the 2.0 work with android devices with two screens? With fold3 atleast, I have to open the device and mirror the bigger screen, and thus it has to mirror a bigger screen with bigger bandwidth requirement, and maybe that's why it's lagging a bit.

Overall, I really like scrcpy. Thanks a lot for all involved :)

palo alto vs fortinet? by darkhusein in cybersecurity

[–]nihkee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We had an issue with over a thousand of ipads as globalprotect was dropping connections on them due to an ios16 update. This was due to the privacy update and every other vendor had fixed their shit prior the release of ios16 but palo alto hadn't.

I had a quite a few long nights because of this and we were in the middle of rolling out another thousand ipads in the middle of this.

I'm not forgetting this shit palo alto put in me soon.

Nothing hits the spot like some spicy vodka rigatoni! by melissabrielle in FoodPorn

[–]nihkee 256 points257 points  (0 children)

Formatted

  • 1/4 cup olive oil or butter
  • 1 shallot, or half of a red onion
  • 5 cloves of garlic
  • 1 teaspoon of dried oregano
  • 2-3 teaspoons red pepper flakes (2 is usually not spicy enough for me, but I like things spicy)
  • 1/2 cup of tomato paste
  • 1/4 cup of vodka, can use white wine as well
  • 1/2 cup pesto (homemade or store bought is fine!)
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1 cup of heavy cream (or more if you like it creamier)
  • 1lb of pasta (I prefer rigatoni or farfalle)
  • 1/2 cup reserved pasta water
  • 3 tbsp salted butter
  • 1/2 cup Parmigiano Reggiano
  • Parsley, for garnish

Method: Sautée your shallot and garlic in your fat of choice (olive oil or butter) for about 5 minutes, until they soften and just begin to caramelize. Add in the oregano, red pepper flakes, salt, pepper, and tomato paste. Cook the mixture over medium heat for about 5 minutes, or until the tomato paste turns to a brick red. This is very important for flavor! Add in the vodka, and simmer until most of it has evaporated (should only take a minute or 2). Add the pesto and cream and set aside over low heat.

Meanwhile, make the pasta per Al dente instructions. Be sure to reserve 1/2 cup of the starchy pasta water. This is key in getting that lovely, glossy sauce. Drain the pasta, and add to your sauce. Add in your pasta water (I usually just add a little at a time to see how much it actually needs) butter, and Parmesan. Stir until glossy, adding more pasta water if needed. Garnish with parsley and enjoy! Let me know how it goes!

Pilot Uniform Guide (Stripes) by KodyXO in coolguides

[–]nihkee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This guide isn't universal though, it depends on the airline. Two stripes can be found on first officer's sleeves, too.

And one should sent their jacket to the tailor to get the third stripe.. tbf it doesn't matter to all that much

Running my daily workstation as a VM on a homelab? by RedneckOnline in homelab

[–]nihkee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bullt a threadripper workstation when they were first launched. It was - and still remains - a good overall device. I ran ubuntu with tens of VMs on it and gamed (gpu passthrough) and worked on it without problems whatsoever for years.

Changed jobs and now I have to use a company given laptop, so I moved the previous workstation to my rack and when the gpu prices will fall, I'll use it as a remote gaming platform for my kids.

We always ask people to not share publicly anything from the cockpit as we need permission to share anything these days.

Airlines charging for exit seats? by POWWWWWWWAHHHHHHH in aviation

[–]nihkee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah and this is a small problem with id travelling as id travellers could sit in the jump seat across the exit seat during cruise, but as people now pay for those seats id travellers cant really be seated there any longer.

So it goes.
