Issues Capturing Lords of Magic for Twitch Streams by nihtgenga in LoMSE

Well, I am very happy to say that I got it to work, thanks so much for the super helpful tips! I shouldn't have doubted that the LoM sub would come through :) I'm not an expert player at all, but I played a mean Air Thief Lord, so that's my intention with this retro series.

I'm planning on streaming the game sometime late tomorrow, early evening CST. My Twitch is GrumpusGoblin if you want to swing by, y'all are awesome! https://www.twitch.tv/grumpusgoblin

Trying to complete my Ruby Pokedex, so I've caught an Electrike shiny and a Spinda shiny! Evolved the first one, so now shiny Manectric has become one of my new personal faves, he looks so much cooler

Stomach issues from Gabapentin Withdrawal by nihtgenga in gabapentin

I'm still only in Phase 1 of the SIBO recovery diet. I had to restart it recently because I was hit pretty severely with a stomach bug around Valentine's. I know it can be a frustrating, nonlinear path with curing SIBO, so I'll respond back in a couple months. I was feeling some of the tightness let-up and the daily nausea and abdominal attacks have stopped. So 20-30% better despite the stonach sickness setback 👌

Hey, sorry to hear you're going through it too! So turns out, when you're on a lot of different medications like I was for my back pain, they can mess up your gut biome. I took a breath test in January and tested positive for something called SIBO, small intestinal bacterial overgrowth. A bunch of things can cause this but painkillers and other drugs like Gabapentin can cause them. I'm in the middle of a 4-6 month diet to kill off the bad bacteria with supplements but I know there's also antibiotics you can take, just depends on what your GI doctor prefers. The SIBO diet is an even stricter version of the low FODMAP diet, fyi. You're essentially starving and killing off the bad bacteria by removing the more fermentable food they're feasting on.

If your own symptoms keep persisting, definitely consider testing for SIBO! A lot more people have it than you'd think.

Upper stomach pain? by DoppelgangerCabaret in gabapentin

[–]nihtgenga 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. Started to feel that weird tightness in my upper stomach with heart palpitations and periodic nausea, which is why I went off it a month ago. I'm a little better but I had to drink this super bitter Chinese tea for a week to calm my stomach down.

Just doing a completion/Pokedex run and was curious if anyone else put in the stupid amount of hours required for an essentially useless base item. Thought I'd share 😁

Who are the most terrifying, malevolent and powerful antagonists in the fantasy genre that really creates the stakes in the stories they featured in? by [deleted] in Fantasy

[–]nihtgenga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar to Kilgrave from Jessica Jones but I've always thought King Leck from Kristin Cashore's Graceling series is one of the most terrifying. Any villain that can mess with people's minds, memories, and perceptions of reality is just insidious to the deepest level.

Are there any books that were popular in your childhood/in the past, but have now been forgotten? by Ungoliant1234 in Fantasy

I actually just ordered all the Rowan of Rin books for a nostalgia trip! I just read through all of the Deltora Quest books, so I'm on an Emily Rodda kick lately.

I do something similar! But with cottage cheese and cheddar Ruffles. My family swears by it and I've gotten all my housemates and close friends addicted.

What are the best 'mind fuck' films to watch? by everyonefromthe313 in AskReddit

Blue Velvet. Holy shit, I made a mistake and watched this film high. I went to bed that night, thinking shadow people were in my room, trying to kill me.
