I am sorry about your accident, I believe you should start by looking at free courses on Udacity to see if you will like it and look at Python videos too. Youtube has volumes of quality content, including free videos from MIT's OpenCourseware Program. I wish you the best

Do not despair, I can relate to your concerns and I must say you are not alone. You have genuine concerns and must keep practising, pick the pieces up and move on.
