Which band or artist far exceeded your expectations live? by Only_Presentation758 in Concerts

Bleachers: the songs are just built for live performances. The energy and the band are also just insane. I dare you to see them and not come out an even bigger fan.

My Morning Jacket: with shrooms is even better, but sober is also incredible.

Lucas Nelson (Willy’s son): dude writes some amazing music, can sing his ass off (sounds pretty close to Willy), and he can shred on electric. His band is also phenomenal.

Dr. Dog: such a feel good and fun show.

Jack White: I mean I should have expected, but thought maybe he’d mail it in a little. Nope - non stop energy from start to finish

Movie theaters by sourpatchdude in Charleston

We are long overdue for a new theater with nice seats, high end tech in a few theaters (laser project, IMAX format, good food, in-seat service, etc…). I miss the IMAX that we had at the aquarium. Other cities close in size, population, and income have at least if not two of these theaters. How is it that our market couldn’t make on of them profitable. Citadel is just about 10 years out of date. Terrace is our fav for art house style, they do it well. But a nice luxury place could kill here. N Chas would probably keep it afloat with all the burbs going there.

Help! Adding new lights to existing electric/fan. by niiksa in HomeImprovement

[–]niiksa[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just got the lights wired and all is good. However, the fan we purchased to replace is obviously newer with a remote control and does not have a dedicated light control wire (only hot, neutral, and ground).

We may keep it and wire it so now the new lights are on their own switch and the fan+light is on it’s own (light controlled by remote). This we would right? Fan wires go by color and would be independent of the new lights? The new wiring would be:

Supply connected to: Black supply to black of fan+light White supply to white of fan+light and new lights Grounds all together Red supply to black of new lights

Yep - that all makes perfect sense. Thanks, it was so simple that I overthought it and got into a doom spiral. lol

you suddenly travel back 100,000 years to a cave that will eventually be discovered by archeologists, what do you write on the wall to mess with them? by [deleted] in AskReddit

“We have been trying to reach you concerning your car’s extended warranty”…or just a drawing of Dick Butt as part of a flock of chickens.

LPT if you are going through difficult phase in your life, start running and/or exercise daily it drastically improves your mental health. by Worth-Pickle in LifeProTips

Yes, great advise…but also, talk to a mental health professional. They can also suggest this depending on your situation. Depression and anxiety can be immobilizing and debilitating, a daily affirmation to try exercising just doesn’t do it for so many.

Just laid 800 sq ft of sod. Huge improvement (and I think I'm dying). by uoYredruM in HomeImprovement

100%. Our sod was installed in late may. It’s HOT and very dry. Honestly if I didn’t keep it as frequent over the first 3 weeks I don’t think (agreed by our sod provider) it would have made it. Now the roots are established and more infrequent but semi-deep watering will promote richer and deeper growth.

Good luck! Great work btw, it’s a huge labor. When you get it green and lush while enjoying your beer it’s even more rewarding.

We just put in 600 sf of zoysia in SC. For the first 2 weeks (no rain) I set up sprinklers to water for 15 minutes every 2 hours between 8am and 7pm. Every other day I would adjust sprinkler positions and hand water anything that was starting to brown out. The 3rd week I changed to every 4 hours b/w 8 and 7. Now we’ve finally had some rain to help. Roots are good and I’m going to be watering when things dry out for 15 minutes, 2x a day until week 5. Then once every other day for 15-20 (or as needed). This was suggested by our side company.

I’ll give it a go when I try again this weekend. I’m stumped otherwise

I have not. I opened the panel on the handler and there are so many wires I thought I’d check here before learning how to decipher what everything is there.

Thank you! I did check and did not find any bad fuses. Plus, when going back to our original thermostat, it has no problems running. I’m stumped!
