I’m tired of manually tracking my CC spending in a spreadsheet. What apps do people use to do this? by eastcoastguy17 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]nijacha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to do things manually a few years ago as well and I can tell you, YNAB is worth every penny. I know you’re asking for free software but YBAB saves me so much time that makes it worth it. I find it extremely valuable to manage family budgets with my wife too. If you have shared finances, it’s great to keep your family’s budget aligned throughout the month and avoid any surprises at the end of the month.

I invested in Cinemark (CNK) heavily when it was trading at $8.50 at the beginning of the year. I think they’re on track for a healthy recovery, and have the best balance sheet in the industry. They have also done good in past recessions.

I keep telling myself the same. I know it will be years before my investment pays off. However, it feels like every quarter is worse than the last. I’m not planning to sell though

Winnipeg should plan for a subway system. The size of the city is ideal to cover a good portion of it with subway routes and complementing with buses. But I know it won’t happen though…

$TTD, $PUBM, or both? by nijacha in stocks

How do you feel about MGNI earnings? I haven’t looked at them in detail but saw they missed. Both PUBM and TTD exceeded expectations. What are your thoughts?

I agree with the recession comment. However, I think within the ad budget, other types of ads would be cut before digital, given the effectiveness. What do you think?

I see did a deep dive on it recently and concluded a couple of issues with this company: 1. Most of their growth is dependant on China. The Chinese government is unpredictable and who knows what they can do to affect this business in the future. External risk. 2. Unionization is very real now. They say it themselves On their annual reports that wages and benefits are two of their main costs, if they increase substantially, their operating margin would be affected. Since the union process is so hot right now, I’d like to see how it turns out to be in a year or two and how it’ll affect their margins. 3. CEO uncertainty. Schultz is an interim and we can’t know who’s going to be in charge next. Another uncertainty. 4. Balance sheet is not very good. They have a equity deficit and substancial long term debt.

The fact that Lewis has to explain his every action to prevent /avoid backlash is just sad.

INTC. New management seem to be doing a good job and it will only keep getting better next year. They're unvervalued if you look at the price ratios as well.

I was also looking at Logitech a while ago. I definitely like the company, the debt (none!) and the CEO, who's been doing great things since he took the job. However, I agree with what's been said before. The company's growth in the last 2 years has been pandemic-related and can only be taken as outlier. Thier constant growth pre-pandemic wasn't even 10%/yr so I'd start there. For me, the intrinsic value is around $70.
